I dont want to sound funny but if they are serving out in iraq surely they wont have long to use the net i am sure there will be loads of lads and lasses wanting to use the net so he maybe just doing us a favour while he has chance and post what they have heard and then email loved ones at home dont bash me about my thoughts i just think about poz stuff first

Back a ways in posts, I suggested that I did not believe that they would cancel the domain, but cancellation makes sense to me if they are moving to perhaps, cbi.iq. This would consitute a rebranding of the site to which I alluded.

I have no idea whether or not this might be related to a reval, but in the marketing world, a new product, or RV in this case, is often presented in conjunction with a new organizational look. Moving to the IQ extenion would indicate a source of pride and independence that could be associated with an RV.

Other than the facts about Domain name proedures, all of this is speculation. I can only hope that a new site launch will come with an RV;

First of all, I have not seen .IQ extension used yet. In fact I don't even know if it has been put into place (I'm sure if I'm wrong, someone will point it out). But why wouldn't they just leave the current site up, and then have it forward to the new site? This would be the smart thing to do anyway. If they implemented www.cbiraq.iq nobody would find it. Google even takes time to get it in their system. No, I don't see them changing to a different domain. I can believe that they might be revamping the entire system, but even when we make changes to any of our sites, we make the changes to our "local site" on our office server and then upload it all once we test it.

If like many are saying here that there is a power outage in Iraq and affects the the CBI, it shouldn't have ANY effect on the site. We have lost power many times, but our main site is hosted in Florida and even they have a backup on the west coast in case of a power outage that lasts longer than their generators.

In regards to any news from us? Only that we are now leaning back towards a lower reval initially, then adjustments up from there.

For what it's worth, on the page that comes up with the rumor on it, the Mark guy has 20 or so posts. For those who don't know just hit Ctrl +F & insert mark wrote, hit next to go thru his posts.

Alan it was stated earlier today that the CBI was closed for updating and maintiance.
