إHe met Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki this morning with Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani in the city of Najaf.
The Al-Maliki arrived in Najaf on Tuesday night in a surprise visit and went this morning to the office of Mr. al-Sistani for his visit.
It is noteworthy that this is the third visit by the Maliki to Najaf since he assumed the post of prime minister last May.

Yes, I do think this all part of the master plan! Over the next coulpe of days/weeks Iraq will be taking in massive sums of capital. This is what they do not want us to see! I always thought that the CBI was providing false and inaccurate information..........................

The fourth of November next new date for the national reconciliation conference of political parties

A source authorized in the Ministry of State for National Dialogue that the fourth of November next date for the national reconciliation conference for Iraqi political parties to be held in Baghdad.

The source explained that the reasons for the postponement was not controversial, as rumored in some media and the Arab Bank, but the regulatory reasons.

Jedi, you also have a good point, and one that given the right time of day, I would be on board with ;) It would make good sense to start off with a peg that would allow the sales of Dinar to offset the purchases so its a wash. That rate could be in the 1.40 range, considering where it was before.

Its just hard to put this square peg in the round hole. I can do it, but I would have to get out my tools, and it would be messy!

If its nothing more than a goof up, then its the longest that I have seen without any kind of splash screen on the homepage letting us know that they are working on the problem. It just doesn't make sense. And if there were Iraqi papers quoting the day before's rate like it was no big deal, without mention as to why there is no new numbers, then that alone is a BIG DEAL!!! :ro_emote:

Well, I will be up watching for the normal 0230 auction. We will see what happens. :waiting:

BTW, I have been searching whois, godaddy and a few others for any new registered site names that might be used by CBI, and so far none.

Planning Minister announces lower inflation index for the month of September of this year compared to last August

The Minister of Planning and Development Cooperation, Mr. Ali Ghalib Baban M'cheraltdkham decline for the month of September compared to last August of the same year, He emphasized that the report was prepared in this area on the basis of data collection in the field "on the prices of goods and services components of the basket of consumer retail prices in selected markets in Baghdad and other governorates, showed the following results :

1. The inflation index for the month of September 2006 compared Bchehrab / 2006 also reflected the general standard figure for consumer price rate (12.8%) .This decline was the result of the decline in the index totals for the following commodity (fuel and lighting, Transport and Communications) rates decline of (41.2% 32.6%) note "that the expenditure on this group constitutes (7%) of the total domestic consumer spending, The group (foodstuffs, Tobacco and alcohol, cloth and clothing, footwear, furniture, medical services and medicines. miscellaneous goods and services, rent), which represents (93%) of total domestic expenditure has recorded a rise during the month of September by comparison with the previous month (2.0% 2.3% ,6.3%, 3.0%, 0.2%, 2.6%, 1.3%), respectively.
