I don't post often either, but I also want to thank Mike and adster for their wealth of information that they provide. If this thing pegs like we all believe - count me in! In fact, I will buy the first round of drinks! It is quite funny how I got caught up in the virtual money game and was constantly checking how much virtual money I was making a day. Now I can just go to my bank, open my safety deposit box and look at all the real money I will eventually have!
    Thanks again everyone.

Of course, if you cash out a million, the bank mandates a report which goes on record on all transactions over $10K, so I will simply travel about exchanging as I go from country to country. I travel a lot and have never been asked about currency exchanges at banks, and if I am carrying over $10K coming back to US, then you have to report it to customs, so I won't be returning with over $10K, simple.

When and where are we holding our first Dinar Dinner bash? LOL The more travel the better, so it will not be an issue to exchange out enough to live on, just spend down below $10K before you come home and claim whatever you want to as it there is no records to worry about this way.

    Good luck to all, Mike
Correct me if I am wrong, but that is monthly is it not? You can do 10K a month without being reported. I thought that is what I was told, but not exactly sure.

    p.s.
are you telling me that you don't have to put your name on anything less than 10k when you exchange? Is that in the US too? yikes. I can live with that.

    Talking

    Hey all!

There is also an option for non-taxable funds to save for your children...not sure of 'exactly' how it goes, but my wonderful-tax-madam asks me EVERY year if I've put away 10,000 for each of my children...my response is always 'no' but perhaps this year I will be able to say YES!

If anyone knows anything concrete about my ramblings above please feel free to elaborate! :-)

Besides, my mind is on Portugal! Beaches and frosty beverages in abundance! I'll be there as long as there is some good music and a spot for me to 'boogie'! LOL!

SO this is REALLY happening, huh guys?!? :-)

Everything just needs to be in place by the 22nd of this month though, right?
    Any news? :-)

(I keep dreaming of houses...silly girl that I am!)
    To our happy lives!
    Tiff :-)

    Greetings,

Technically, it is any time you have a $10K plus transaction, so it has nothing to do with monthly, it could be daily, if your good friends with your bank manager. LOL If you go to your bank every day and do a $10K transaction, they are obligated to report you since Patriot Act went into force. We have always had a $10K or higher cash reporting system, but often times it was not scrutinized as it is now due to terrorism excuse in US.

    Good luck to all, Mike

Correct, you can gift $10K tax free to each of your children annually, so like everything, you have to know how to shelter your new found wealth.

A lot of activity going on in gov this week, so with latest bombings, this was to influence appointments and to insure an equal ratio of appointments, so even though we hate to hear about bombings, these are messages for gov. to get their act together and not forget which sectarian groups must be satisfied with high positions in gov.

Politics, funny, in US it is money being used to influence politicians decisions, in Iraq it is bombings. Crazy as it sounds, but that is what is going on at the moment.

    Good luck to all, Mike
