Default Kermanshah to host Iraq Reconstruction Exhibition

    19 October 2006 (LawkSalih.com)
Iranian tradesmen and industrialists from all over the nation will showcase their products during a four-day exhibition of Iraq’s reconstruction.

The exhibition, to be held in Iran’s western city of Kermanshah, near the nation’s border with Iraq, will showcase Iranian products, in particular, the construction, industrial, petrochemical, agricultural and hygienic products, oil and gas and steel industries, detergents, foodstuffs and a variety of vehicles and machineries
The upcoming exhibition is expected to provide suitable opportunities for Iranian and Iraqi tradesmen to conclude significant agreements as a result of which Iran’s non-oil products exports would be increased to over one billion dollars, noted the chairman of Chamber of Commerce of Kermanshah.
Increased by $150 million, Iran’s export to its neighboring nation hit well over $400 million in the past year, the Persian service of IRNA said here on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 50 Iraqi authorities as well as some 200 Iraqi businessmen are going to take part in a two-day seminar held on the sidelines of the four-day exhibition. The two countries’ officials will discuss the obstacles and problems facing the trade between the two nations in particular issues related to truck transportation, insurances, long-term visas, cargo transit and the trend in the reconstruction measures.
    Date:
Iraq Reconstruction Exhibition will be held at the Kermanshah permanent fairgrounds from November 5-9, 2006.

I have attended alot of auctions. You bid for the item, highest bid wins. Sometimes things are offered at a fixed price because there are quantities of the same object. Whoever wants one can have it at that price till all are sold. Maybe that is what the bank is doing. IMHO they are meeting each day but instead of auctioning the dinar they put a fixed price on it (1470). If you want it you can have it at that price. I believe that is what the article is saying. It can't be the way you said Susie because the past three auctions don't reflect that statement. But again, its just my thoughts on it.

    Cheers!

The ministry of interior has dismissed more than 3,000 officers for a range of violations, ministry spokesman Abdul-Karim Khalaf announced at a press conference yesterday. The sackings are part of a restructuring process currently taking place in the ministry. More than 1,200 policemen were dismissed for criminal acts such as forgery, human rights abuses and negligence.

Dismissed??? Throw their sorry ass in jail for a few years. The last thing the Iraqi people need is 3,000 highly trained ex-policemen roaming the streets unemployed. Gee, I wonder what they are going to do to feed their families now? Surely nothing criminal.

the EXACT same article was put out on monday as was put out on thursday. that DOES NOT indicate a fixed rate is being adhered to. they were simply stating on monday that the previous CBI AMOUNTS were all 1470. if you look back at the auction price in this forum since we post it daily you will see that for three days in a row the auction price ON THE CBI was indeed 1470.
    JULY STILL AINT NO LIE!!!

    Ward,
How you been. Yes I too am in the 1.48 camp. The magnitude of all the good news lately is enough to make me believe we are almost to end of our ride. Especially since the auctions have stopped.

There is another older article that together with the more recent comments of the MOF seem to bring to fullness the idea. In any case We'll take .68 but we will like 1.48 better.....

One more interesting thought also floating around was brought by 2bmore and a reference to the SDR and .68 of that which brings parity with the Dollar 1:1 but then again the Iraqis also call 3.22 parity and I'm not saying I understand that but they did display it. So it is an interesting speculation and I love them all. but I'm in the buck and half camp.

I'm with you in that same camp bro. But, who am I to stick my nose up at $3.22?
