Lux.........I'm not much on rumors so take this as you will.
My stock broker calls my wife up out of the blue wanting me to overnight 4 M NID. Nothing significant in that.......but he told me through email that a significant "international" political and economic effort will unfold in the first quarter of 2007. The broker knows my complete investment portfolio........says I'll be home in early 2007 and never worry about money again.
Been here and done that.......so we'll see!

after that last article about saudi ALREADY gettin set up to start their investments because of the foreign investment law being passed by iraq? lol

oh sure, 2007, uhuh. and they are going to let everyone sit and collect cobwebs til then. talk about not showin up for the fight.

Hopefully asap Susie, make for a great xmas if it revals before. We could all use a holiday too after this experience!, best time of the year to get away for us here in blighty.

Statement

Iraq is going through a critical period and that today there is a lot of strong accomplice either to abort or political experience behind or returned to their wealth.
Since the Iraqi government based on the foundations of legal and constitutional protection of the responsibility lies with all participants in the political process and no one has the right to act outside the laws and regulations in force.
It has been observed in recent proliferation of armed operations outside the law and against public security in the country as well as the political stability of the danger in addition to exposing the lives and property of citizens of the dangers of heavy, Therefore, the commitment of the government of its responsibility in maintaining security and stability and to protect the lives and property of citizens and the maintenance of public funds, the Iraqi government directed a warning to all the forces of carrying illegal weapons to refrain from any armed action without prejudice to public security, and everyone knows that the orders had been issued to the armed forces to stop trespassing on the prestige of the state and to oppose attempts to break the law, whatever their origin.
At this time, the Iraqi government invites all political forces, parties and organizations and the tribes to assume their responsibilities and stand with the state in the fight against terrorists and outlaws, as well as urging them to refrain from any action contrary to the law and undermined public security.

It also calls on the Iraqi government, in particular, the sons of our people in Maysan to be vigilant against attempts to drag the country one of rivalry and fighting for the purpose of Atkhaddm homeland and the citizen.
And everyone knows that the Iraqi government will deal firmly and seriously with respecter of the law, so as to the homeland and its assets and political protection of the lives and property of citizens viewers, stressing the need for all eternity of calm and tranquility.

Sorry to sound remotely negative and we all know how negativity attracts its fair share of critics on forums but I have stopped believing in any rumours since that rollercoaster ride not too long ago based on animated statements. No one....absolutely no one...knows when the dinar will revalue. The very few who do are so higher up in the chain that they will never disclose such confidential information. Agreed that we have had more positive news in the last couple of months than the previous 2 years combined but we ought to be prepared to be disappointed. As Adster rightly said once, give yourself a longer time period for this thing like first quarter of 2007 and that way there wouldn't be so much disappointment when things dont pan out. This blimmin thing will revalue and that's for sure. Just hope it does before the last dreg of patience evaporates!

Think positive...Today is a new day. Hopefully it will reval today...if not then I shoot for tomorrow.

I for one believe this will happen before the Nov 7th election day here in the US. There is too much at stake for Bush and the Boys to let an opportunity like this to slip by. If nothing happens Bush could be sitting in a Lame Duck situation for the last two years of his presidency. Or he could go out with a head opf steam that could keep the GOP in office after 2008. Again, I for one think something will happen before the 7th.
