So in effect...this Marazzi policy will have to do with Susie's find today:

The rise in the value of the Iraqi currency against the dollar would reduce the value of imports, and raising the value of exports. As exports are negligible, the economy will benefit from the policy of raising the rate of the Iraqi dinar. He emphasized that this action has positive effects, when used with other procedures, the most important financial policy, which is based on controlling public spending, The use of fiscal policy to reduce the cash, They are difficult to apply.

It's all coming together nicely don't you think?

    Cheers!

DEFINATELY!!! Thanks for the find, you are a great asset to the team here!!

After looking at Marazzi's backround, it looks to me as if he is associated somehow with the information from the publication

I think this simply has more to do with what denoms are in their vault at the time your order comes in. I've received 25K, 10K, and 5K at different times even though I've requested low denoms every time.

    1. No reval before 10k checks are distributed because this could cause problems distributing checks which are now worth alot more.

    2. Banks closed to receive smaller denoms and get computer systems ready for new value. Banks also closed so people can't cash their checks and spend their dinar before reval.

    3. Once checks are safely in hand by citizens who can't cash them yet the reval is announced and banks re-open.

I think I like the picture that is starting to form.
For what period was the Iraqi Bank closed, and where could I find an official press release confirming the closure? I assume this closure is not related to their website being down for a few days because the website is a simple HTML site with PDF files. It clearly has nothing to do with the banking infrastructure or international money transfer systems. It seems to me the site went down because of poor management, just one look, and you can see amateurs are handling this site.

For an example here is the first line to the article in question with the word المرآزي included.

Full text:يتابع البنك المرآزي العراقي باهتمام بالغ الاتجاهات السعرية الراهنة
Translation:Following World Marazi Iraqi with great price trends in the current

Full text omitting the word:يتابع البنك العراقي باهتمام بالغ الاتجاهات السعرية الراهنة
Translation:Following the Bank of Iraq with great interest the current price trends

    Hope that helps.
Well its used more than once...try that with the other times it was mentioned...

....reflected in the current level of rates as well as the bank continues Marazi, interest Rate Policy-Marazi Iraqi Iraqi bank to achieve its objectives current operational addressed to influence the rates of the monetary liquidity and control menaced....

The bank will maintain Marazi Iraqi on the other tracksin its monetary policy to achieve intermediate goals for reducing inflation and contain inflationary expectations...

I actually just googled around. See what you can do with it...its all Greek to me.

    Thanks for the input.

    Cheers!

Everytime I have ordered from Chase, no matter how much, 200,000 or 1million, I have always received 25,000 denom. I have even specifically asked for lower but have never gotten them. grrrr

Just goes to show that a HUGE bank that most of us count on for information has a bunch if normal everyday people working for them.
This is very true as I got another order today for that exact exchanged rate.

Marshall plan and the Werwolf insurgents

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Werwolf (also Wehrwolf, a less common variation) was a Nazi plan at the end of World War II for a force which would aid the Wehrmacht by means of guerrilla attacks against the Allies in the Allied-occupied regions of Germany. It was thus one example of a stay-behind organization. The word "Werwolf" is the German cognate of werewolf, in the sense of lycanthropy; it is also a pun on Wehrwolf, which means "defence wolf". "Werwolf" was the favoured name .........

It originally had about 5,000 members recruited from the SS and Hitler Youth, and specially trained in guerrilla tactics. It even went so far as to establish front companies to ensure continued funding after occupation (all were discovered and shut down within eight months). However as it became increasingly clear that the Alpine Redoubt ..............................

    Here is what they did.

What did the Werwolf do? They sniped. They mined roads. They poured sand into the gas tanks of jeeps. (Sugar was in short supply, no doubt.) They were especially feared for the "decapitation wires" they strung across roads. They poisoned food stocks and liquor. (The Russians had the biggest problem with this.) They committed arson, though perhaps less than they are credited with: every unexplained fire or explosion associated with a military installation tended to be blamed on the Werwolf. These activities slackened off within a few months of the capitulation on May 7, though incidents were reported as late as 1947.

I think they are going to give the Insurgents amnesty for all the killing they have done in the past.

Here is a link from 2004
The Seattle Times: Nation & World: Iraqi insurgents could get amnesty

Iraq Amnesty Plan May Cover Attacks On U.S. Military

    Here is one from yesterday.
US in secret truce talks with insurgency chiefs - Sunday Times - Times Online

What I am getting at is they are going to revalue the dinar to Isolate the insurgents economiclly and try to bring the bring the various Insurgent groups into the fold by offering amnesty to them. Then Us and Iraqi forces will deal with what is left over. The Werwolf insurgents eventually capitulated to the allies in the end just as the Iraqi insurgents will in the future.

    another post today:

International advisory and monitoring Bord for Iraq.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Has this meeting taken place? Anyone
International Advisory and Monitoring Board for Iraq (IAMB) -- An audit oversight body for the Development Fund for Iraq (DFI) -- Meeting Schedule The october 31 meeting.

    The security council Resolution 1483

The DFI was established pursuant to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1483 and holds the proceeds of petroleum export sales from Iraq, as well as remaining balances from the UN Oil-for-Food Program and other frozen Iraqi funds. Disbursements from the DFI must be used for the benefit of the Iraqi people, and are directed by the Coalition Provisional Authority, in consultation with the Iraqi interim administration.

3rd pg #3. decides to extend 31 dec 2006 the arrangements established in paragraph 20 of the resolution 1483 for depositing into th delvopment fund for Iraq of proceeds from the export sales of petroleum, petroleum products, and natural gas.............................

#4 the Internationl advisory and monitoring board shall be reviewed at the request of the goverment of Iraq no later than 15, June 2006.

They met in June and extended the mandate until Dec 31, 2006.
This meeting in October will allow them to rescind resolution 1483 and Sign article VIII

Article VIII the link Articles of Agreement: Article VIII - General Obligations of Members

Section 2. Avoidance of restrictions on current payments
    (a) Subject to the provisions of Article VII, Section 3(b) and Article XIV, Section 2, no member shall, without the approval of the Fund, impose restrictions on the making of payments and transfers for current international transactions.

    (b) Exchange contracts which involve the currency of any member and which are contrary to the exchange control regulations of that member maintained or imposed consistently with this Agreement shall be unenforceable in the territories of any member. In addition, members may, by mutual accord, cooperate in measures for the purpose of making the exchange control regulations of either member more effective, provided that such measures and regulations are consistent with this Agreement.

The Iamb has currency restrictions on Iraqs funds that come from Petroleum sales.. sec 2 a . Once these are lifted Iraq can trade Internationally.

It clearly states that the Iraq Government can recend the article when they choose!!! They DO NOT have to wait until Dec 31st!!! YAHOO!!! WOOT!!! WEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got ya covered Suzie!!!!
