Not trying to scare anyone here but since this law is being abolished this may affect current ISX investments.

1) A foreign investor may implement foreign investment using, among other things, freely convertible currencies or Iraqi legal tender, in the following forms:

The news channels are letting the news out! Oil company profits! Largest profit made by any company in one quarter! This year, 2006, Exxon made a whopping $10 Billion USD, only quarter that was larger, was last years!

We are investing in the right business okay, indirectly, we are holding "GNP" of "Black-Gold" Iraqi 20W50, 5W30, 10W30-40, SAE30, SAE40, etc... You name, plastic, everything we touch now-a-days. The future for our children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren as we are someone's "great" grand child, because I am You is "great" cause we have invested in something that is goping to "pop" as a friend of mine would say! I just did a quick study of the money people and from the Iraqi national congress clear through the present government the money people are directly and first handedly involved with this situation as is. Things are getting better everyday in Iraq, but the terrorists are stepping up their attacks this month trying to control the outcome of our U.S. elections.

I think after the elections when the terrorist see we are not going cut and run it will break the fighting spirit of a lot them, so I expect the violence will drop dramatically in November.

I am a new poster and would NEVER post "BS" just to get people excited. If you recall, I said I had no way of knowing if the $5 Iraqi note is real or not. I do not have it and I cannot scan it since it is not mine..... I guess that will teach me to share anything on this forum!

I have wondered the same thing. I posted this last week. Any thoughts from anyone?

Could someone please clarify for me what this might mean?

Regarding the FIL:

The law opened all areas of investment before Iraqi and foreign investors except:
1. Investment in the field of extracting and producing oil and gas
2. Investment in the sectors of banks and insurance companies
3. Land cannot be owned except for housing projects. It can be owned by Iraqis as separate units; otherwise, it is given for a period of fifty years, which is renewable.

Also, regarding the Presidential Order 13303: Allows US Citizens to invest in the new Iraq. Under this order and the Coalition Provisional Government Order 39, a US Citizen has the same rights to investments as an Iraqi citizen

I found that this appears to no longer apply since the dissolution on 6/28/2004.

The Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) was established as a transitional government following the invasion of Iraq by the United States, United Kingdom and the other members of the multinational coalition which was formed to oust the government of Saddam Hussein in 2003. Citing UN Security Council Resolution 1483 (2003), and the laws of war, the CPA vested itself with executive, legislative, and judicial authority over the Iraqi government from the period of the CPA's inception on April 21, 2003, until its dissolution on June 28, 2004.
