I just wanted to thank you guys for letting me share my thoughts (nutty sometimes) here and to thank you for being so great! That includes Adam, Mike, and EVERYONE else that I talk and play with here. I actually got teary eyed reading Mike's (OS-W's) post last night to everyone! Silly? Perhaps. Glad I got on this ride? Should be a fun next-couple-weeks folks!

    Hey Adam,

I actually put in for 2 days of vacation this week because I was sure that I could not handle a full week at the day job while thinking about a possible peg. We have a national holiday here in the US next monday so I will have 5 days off if I can just get through today and tomorrow without doing something crazy like quitting. LOL

    Red face Some Advice

    Hi Guys and Gals
I've been calculating how much I will get if the Dinar pegs at 1:1. Calculated the 40% tax as well. I am very annoyed to see how much I will be loosing to tax!! Right now I am struggling and no one cares, including the govt. I tried to apply for housing but was turned down. I used what was left between me and poverty to invest in Dinars and now this B%$&^%*& TAX! Any way to reduce it, even if it means opening an acc. in another country. How do I get to know which country has the lowest tax? Can I open a bank account in any country without being a citizen of that country?
Your help and advice will be very much appreciated

Yep, I spend more time with my dinar spreadsheet than anything else these days.

I know this will not make sense for most people but I am planning to start a not for profit corporation to give financial aid to students in the Philippines and I will donate a big piece of my dinar to that corp. Running that endeavor will be my "post peg" job.

NOTE: this is not a method to reduce the tax liability on my personal gain but does let me give a bigger amount to others without a tax bite from that piece.

continued. darn fingers. Anyway, after I dodge at the last minute an impending bankruptcy, (never never NEVER get into credit card debt...mostly incurred through making money on the internet and a daughter's wedding...) I had plans to start a foundation for people who love their animals, but can't afford vet bills for emergencies. Been there, and it isnt' any fun. God bless us all, and here's to the peg!

I'm with you on this one, credit cards and internet programs are a dangerous mix.

The rumour dates knocking around are still the same folks.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

    Sure is!

But I did it again...took a loan to buy dinars...
Now I have decided anyway what to do - thanks to all who gave me their point of view on it!
I bought dinars for MOST of it - but not all! That way, if it doesn't peg quickly, life will go on as usual and I won't panic, because I will still have a little "normal" money:)
