Could be, sounds like they're stalling considering they should have gone out over a week ago......

This of course and the smaller denoms. Geezzz, I wish we could find out more about them.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

    Adster,
I agree the smaller denominations are the key. Have all the banks opened back up from the holiday and if so. Maybe someone on the ground over there
has seen smaller bills or not.

hmmmmm.....no cheques yet and yes , where are the smaller denoms?

Again....I think the reval is close so don't be to disappointed with yesterday . When it comes it will be a suprise to us in the easrly morning hours when they update the CBI site....then expect the big press conference. They stated in the article posted by Charmed that the "Hydrocarbon law that lays out exactly how revenue is going to be shared"....kind of sounds like Kuwait where only 1/5 of the country works because the rest live wealthy off of oil revenues....and like Alberta, Canada where the people of that Province receive a cheque for revenue sharing. Also...for Iraq to rebuild, (structures, electricity, agriculture, etc) they are going to have to IMPORT....which means buying from other countries...which they have stated that they can't do as it is not feasible at this time. So, quietly and soon they will R/V that damn Dinar....give out those cheques...make people open bank accounts...and start handing out smaller denoms.

We also know that forever Iraq has been a cashed based counrty....but I think the value of the dollar is worth more when it is in the CBI...and the CBI then knows how much is in circulation...so this is why they are giving out cheques...making the people open accounts and give them smaller denoms.
When is it they are sending bank employees for training?....Nov. 13 area.

Big steps are being made everyday and we are seeing a lot of hype coming out of Iraq regarding this...However I think we will see the R/V when there is little hype...as I said..quietly SSSHHHH

I just registered, but I have been reading this forum for a while now.
However, I have a question here:
I have some dinars, and I wanted to buy some more in the last few days.

I have read on this forum that Chase is selling dinars , so I went to a Chase branch in Chicago, IL and tried to get some . The MAIN Chicago branch - the currency exchange dept lady that I spoke to - said : "we do not sell dinars". That was on Monday, Oct 30. I asked her twice: " Are you sure? " She says: "Absolutely sure". Hmmmm...

Then I was thinking: how come that the main Chase branch does not sell dinars - especially in Chicago, which is not some town lost in the mountains, but it has a pretty big population?
There are two Chase branches that do currency exchange in the area and none of them were selling dinars as of Oct 30.

Did anyone else here try to buy from Chase in the last few days? Cause this is burning by brains.:( Did they stop suddenly selling dinars or what?

On the other hand, in my way to the bank I stopped to get gas at my gas station. The manager there is from Jordan. I asked him what he knows about the IQD.

He did not tell me if he personally has invested into it, however, he said his brother - who is back in Jordan - bought about $50,000 worth of iraqi dinars.
Now, I was thinking : okay, this guy did not buy all that dinars for nothing. He is right on the border with Iraq. He gets the news/rumors first hand...

Okay, now back to my question: did anyone here buy dinars from Chase in the last few days?

    Thanks.
Wow your story is exactly like mine. I too called both main " currency branches " in the chicago area, evanston and chicago, rest assured they
" all " do in fact buy and sell dinars in every state at every main branch.
When you first walk in they may say they do not, but tell them you are absolutely positive that they do. Go to a different branch, walk in and say I want to order foreign currency, they ask what kind, tell them Iraqi Dinar, IQD, 1,000,000 worth ( or whatever amount you desire ) , make sure they look it up, because they do sell, picked up more last week from multiple suburb branches, if ordered early enough in the day, you get it next day.

current buy rate from chase is $767.67 per million
they even buy it back from you for like $620-something

If you still have trouble, call the Elk Grove VIllage branch on Higgins rd., have them call your local branch to give em a kick in the a$$ and do there job and look it up in their computers

We had this info from a few days back:
"The International Advisory and Monitoring Board has a meeting scheduled Oct 31 , 2006. When they meet the Iraqi Govt can Request control of the oil proceeds from the IAMB and Resend Resolution 1637 and sign article VIII and trade thier curency internationally"

It always seems to take time to find out what has been accomplished at their mtgs... half the time its embargoed... not saying this was.. but it might take alittle more time to confirm one way or the other.. and of course its not unusual for them to suddenly entend a time frame? Remember the FIL also would automatically kick in if not manually done within 30 days.. which i think was within first week of Nov... Still hoping.. :)ez
