military intel to pay informents and such

i have to wave the bs flag on this for the following reasons

    1. 9 for 10 military personel are not allowed on the local economy (to risky)
    2. the shops on most base/camps take dollers ( and cash at that ) they may sell dinar (most under the table or as collectors items ) but they sure as hell wont take it over dollers in a sale on base.
3.intel units ( at least army and air force ) dont normaly deploy in that large of force ( not more than a team normaly and almost never larger than a company)
4.80k troops is a division or major command no way in hell are they going to give that many people cash of any kind.. theres no way to track it and EVERYTHING in the military has to be signed for ( even chow )
    5. and ImHo the key to this... Consider the source ( i cant even find the post on iff )
Thanks, as with any rumour I give them very little substance. Even the BoA rumour, time will tell.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

The IMF is a Division of the World Bank, so I imagine they would have offices in any World Bank Office.

My husband recently returned from Iraq and served as a company 1SG...I ran this rumor by him and after several minutes of hysterically laughing he said first of all it by far is a conflict of interest. If you remember correctly during the Gulf 1 the troops were suppose to receive $12,000 thank you gift from the Kuwaiti government but never happened because of conflict of interest. They then wanted to give them gold coins which was a conflict of interest....the troops however did receive a service medal which is suppose to be made of gold...my husband does have this. Anyway...his point is the U.S. military will only every pay in U.S. dollars and since coins are not used at the military exchange in Iraq they given them POGS which are cardboard coins with the military exchange logo that represents coin denomination. In my past posts I posted a picture of these regarding another issue. The point is U.S. military are U.S. government employees and funds are issued by the U.S. government. I would not count on this rumor holding much water.

In regard to my last post at one point U.S. military did pay Iraqi informants in U.S. dollars up until recently. They currently are paid in dinars now. According to my husband the reason is that when he dealt with informants (during raids etc. ) sometimes they would refuse the U.S. money even though they still would give the information....not because they didn't need the money, want the money, or deserved the U.S. currency but they did not want to accidentally be caught by an insurgant or turned over to the opposition and found to carry U.S. currency. It would be a little hard to explain where they got it other than to have been paid by U.S. or colalition no doubtedly for information....so last he heard they were paying in dinars to encourage informants, protect their identity in mainstream population.
