I think they will give it befroe the RV just as it goes into place. Like someone mentioned 10k = USD or even more, would give them a way to rebuild their lives, and also incentive with the higher interest rates to place in a high yeild savings of something like that - maybe CDs or $ for secured credit to rebild their rined credit and to finance repairs or educations ect....
Were they not to give 50K as education incentive and/ or was it 20 to the chidren of martyrs. How big is the average family there? 2-3, 4-5 children? depending on the age of the family members one family with 2 eligible children could recieve upwards of 30 to 80K dinar at what ever the RV hits at.

GOD speed to this investment - we all need it - when it rains it pours.

Something has been bothering me lately. It's this talk about about the bank mergers. They might not be able to RV. If the private banks do not have enough reserves to back up an RV. So with all of this bank merger talk. They might need to increase reserves or complete all of the mergers first. We could be part of the problem. Or, that is all of the non Iraqis. Who now hold IQD bank accounts! If in fact this is true, we have atleast 6 months to wait!




I never did like or trust Warka. Could they be acting against Iraq? By offering those early bird accounts!!!!!!!!!!!!!....................

Well it is, like you say, a success but they know that the Dinar has to be stronger in order to really get the economy going with the FIL and HCL. How much exactly will they Peg it for up front is the question, isn't it? I suppose what we as speculators do not want to see yet is a rapid drop before the reval of the Dinar as to then there would not be as strong a need to do it. But I really don't see that senerio occuring without a reval!!

I thought the CBI was the source for backing the currency, and the other banks are then based off of it. Am I wrong?
