I agree with the point that you are making, however Afganistan loped zeros after the US lead invasion. It has gone up in value since the zero loping.

Pretty smart - the girl. She smelled something.

I went and bought one million and then my sister went too ( one at the time, cause I had my kids in the truck in the parking lot) and bought one million. That's what threw the girl off probably. And she made that comment when my sister was in. If I was there probably I would have told her to get some for herself.

What I believe is that it matters what kind of people you get in contact with at these banks. The average american working at the bank would not know too much about currency exchange rates, etc, but when you talk to someone that came from a different country, they do know what and how because at some point they needed to exchange currency...and the majority of them send money home to help their families, so they know even the exchange rates for their countries..

Honestly, I think her comment was referring to me and my sis - two people buying one mill dinars each in lass than 15 minutes...She did not know anything about the dinars thing - she was wondering why we buy them - which makes me believe that they ( the tellers at the bank) are not aware of anything going on. I would assume that if they were informed of anything, the girl would have known about it already - after all it would have been about her native country...and she did not look stupid at all...

she was actually the teller for the my second purchase of dinars from them,
when I walked in asking to purchse dinars, she even said that she didn't think that they offered them, and I assured her that they do..

Check this exchange site out. Click on the link. Then let java load (real time). Go to the bottom where it says Live chart and analysis system
click on tab that says instrument and choose EURIQD. Then go over to tab that says time scale and choose 1 minute.....the thing is going crazy.

My neices husband went to I believe FIRST NATIONAL BANK in FT. SMITH, AR. a few months ago and they had a book with the new dinar in it too. I believe that He was told that they would use AMERICAN EXPRESS when exchanging. LISA

    Exchanging is buying and selling.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

You know what CharmedPiper? Don't use this site as anything other than fun - unless a currency is already trading FX internationally. I got a little excited about this about a month ago - and it's still the same today.

CBI is what we need to watch

At this point I will take any movement as progress even if it is only fluctuating with the euro or dollar...I chalk it up as a cheap thrill!

Read the posts from earlier...apparently the CBI change the rules also...it was posted earlier this morning on one of our threads that the CBI removed the statement off the site that says it has to be published in the Gazette first. So....I guess anybody's guess goes...
