And of course there are wide opinions on what the revaluation would be, but just lately 1.48 seems quite prominent, and would actually make a lot of sense.

But can we really see them revaluing to 1.48 and then giving each Iraqi citizen the equivalent of $14,800?

Somehow I don't think so, and if indeed the delay of the handout is as a result of an imminent revaluation, you would have to then think that the revaluation level would be quite low.

I would personally feel more confident of a high reval if it was in no way linked to this promised handout.

I got a mail yesterday from Free Dinar (Ompus) It seems the handout are going to start next week. I'll include the link, and the article.

The article didn't state when the program will begin BUT, would they RV the Dinar after giving out loans to help people start a new small business??

If not this weekend a RV could be a long time away.

You read that wrong, I think. If you look at other currencies, you'll see that the figure in brackets is how many of the currency in question it takes to buy 1 USD. So that is .31 Dinars = 1 US Dollar.

Also, that is the old dinar. There are two entries for Iraq: the old dinar, and the new one. What I find interesting is that the new one shows m.float which is also what China shows. This means floating in line with a specified bundle of currencies, I think.

Sounds great and thanks RR. We await with excitement! Tis as good a time as any and certainly makes sense. Can they do it then? Course, they don't have to have an enacted fil or oil law yet.

We need to add the EU Trade signing on the list of events for the 20/11.

On a side note it shows me how close we are that we have scammers coming out trying to con us out of our money. Wankers. We've worked hard for this, do not fall for any of the BS. If you're in doubt post it here and we'll check the info out but there is no point in giving your money to anyone except the bank to exchange once we can. And even then I wouldn't advise letting the dinars out of your sight, I certainly won't!!!!


As stated already, no reprint, no lop, and no true information will be given out by the IMF, World Bank etc over the telephone.

Like everyone let's hope tomorrow is the day, IF it's not we know it will one day soon.

No joke, this can hit any day now IMO.

Now this is the kind of news that will make your "Heart" thump. Remember folks, everything is a speculation. When I get a chance I'll put together a post with all the facts and news with excerts from the CBI as above, the MoF and the IMF stating the need to raise the dinar etc. IF we don't have our reval tomorrow there may be some disappointment on here so it'll be a good one to keep the chins up.
