Default Here's hoping to hear the R/V has happened

Hey everybody, it sounds like anything is possible today and I'm very excited by all the great post especially Adsters recap of the facts. I have a concern though, a question if you will. Due to my lack of knowledge concerning economics and politics and nation building and such, I for the life of can't understand why this revalue has not already taken place. We have all been very hopfull toward specific dates and times and with good reason I think, in which the R/V obviously didn't occur. Again, I don't see why it has not already happened and I can not see why it should not happen now, today or at least very shortly like, this week or this month but what if it does not? What are we to think? How long can this people survive with the status quo? Indeed, how long can the government survive in the present cliament? In my mind, the only obstical to a R/V is the violent insurgents and it seems that an R/V would go a long way to quel that, am I wrong?

I don't know about all of you but for me, this has become very frustrating because all the news and information keeps pointing to a revalue soon and specifics events and dates and times keep coming and going with no R/V and because it does not make since to me or I'm simply not understanding the news, I'm left really not knowing what to think.

OK, having said all that, here's my question. If today comes and goes with no R/v and November comes and goes with no R/V, are we destined to keep looking to the next month and the next and so on and so on or is there someway to really understand what's happening over there?

Please don't miss understand this post. I'm as convienced as ever that Iraq must revalue or die, I don't see any other way but then again, I'm certainly no expert in these matters.

What do y'all think? I would very much like some feed back on this. Thanks to you all for posting your research and you thoughts.

You are exactly right. When the Dinar is traded on the Foreign Exchange Market, it will be open to buying and selling every where. At what rate will it hit the exchange? We all have our guesses. Also, i think the CBI could possibly strenghten the exchange rate through their auctions, but i don't see this is attractive as opening up to International exchange. JMO.

So, we have no CBI today and no ISX tommorow.
There is no better moment to bring the IQD on the FOREX tonight.

Thanks Kiko. I got a similar email from them today after requesting status on my last purchase.

    Dear Mr. XXX,

Your stock order was executed in the last trading session dated 1st of November 2006 and we are waiting to receive our stock purchases from our brokerage office and we will provide our sincere clients with their full purchase details as always.

There has been a delay because all government and private sectors are closed because of the general curfew imposed by the Iraqi Government due to the court sentencing of the former dictator and regime members.

I thank you for your fine understanding and cooperation.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Manager

How long can the government survive? They are doing fine. They have oil revenue coming in. It's the normal, everyday person who is suffering. They are the ones who lost their buying power due to a artificially devalued currency.

As to when the RV will happen. I agree, many, many things point to the possibility very soon. At the very least, economic reforms and transparency are happening. I believe a real key is the FIL (Foreign Investment Law) and its enactment. Once it's enacted, investors will be open to invest. And, once the HCL (Hydro Carbon Law) is enacted, the oil fields will be open to major foreign investment. Now, the key (IMO) is how to they accept investments. Will it be in dollar, euro or dinar? Obviously we all think dinar. I don't believe they will let investors get in on Iraq's oil field on the cheap.
