The shop keepers ajust their price according to the value of the dinar. In a short time the price of imported items will go down based on the fact that those same items will not cost as much dinar as before and their for the prices of the goods to the consumers will decrease. That part will be the true benefit to the Iraqi's and the overall economy. It simply puts their purchasing power in and outside of Iraq closer to what other countries in the area have. The increase in the exchange is important but it has to be coupled with the FIL and even the HCL to make a difference short term but more importantly for the long run of their economy.

Can you imagine the pandemonium rush if it revalues before they had out the stipend. Its going to be a mad house once word gets out for that card.

PNA-Saddam Hussein urged Iraqis on Sunday to reject the sectarian violence ripping his country apart and to "not take revenge" on "invading" forces, his chief lawyer said after the ousted leader was sentenced to death.

Been watching for about 2 months now. But like I said it just sits there the only change you see is when the dollar or euro flucuate. It is not actively traded yet.

The problem is that the Iraqi people, for the most part, have no money in their pockets or savings or anywhere else. For example, if the 10k dinar is given out pre-rv, it will be immediately consumed and there will be no windfall for the Iraqi people when the rv takes place. Only a very small number of Iraqis enjoy a savings account so the rv will not benefit most people as far as money on hand at the time of the rv.

I called my personal banker on Friday 11/10. She is a VP of customer service. She called the B of A foreign currency and asked about this and was told there is no set date when B of A will start dealing.
