this is my point, if no rv with the 10k handout then our investment and more importantly the iraqi people and country could be in a real mess long term.

i for one would not be best pleased in i got my 10,000 card and went out to buy some food straight away for my family and in the next month the 10k i had and spent was all of a sudden worth 1000,s % more. i can only see that causing more problems.

I am beginning to wonder if they don't r/v when they hand out the 10k dinars this week and then r/v next year, they may pull a Marshall Plan and hand out an additional r/v'd amount of dinars at the actual time of the r/v. With the original Marshall plan it was 40 deutch marks, Maybe with the Iraqis they'll give out 500 dollars worth of r/v'd dinar at the time of the reval. That way they could continue to give their 10k of dinar worth less than 7 dollars now and then when they are ready to r/v give out another amount although this time much smaller than 10k. I hope they don't do this 'cause the Iraqi people need it to r/v now not next year. But the corruption level of the Iraqi politicians is so unfathomable to the western mind anything is possible.

We have to keep watching if it's true!!

I find it curious that our good friend Adster has not shown up during the last 12 hours as he usually does. I certainly hope that he has not become disillusioned with this whole debacle.

Another thought...I find myself calling the Iraqi leadership names such as illiterate and corrupt...but maybe I am at fault by trying to understand the arab mentality from a western point of view. They most certainly do not think as we do and that probably explains why things are not moving along as we expect and desire them to. If the 10K Dinars are distributed in the absence of the rv, and the Iraqi people accept them quietly without staging a full blown RIOT...I believe that I will just lay off of them for awhile and patiently wait for that special email from rolclub to arrive someday.

hmmmm ..... Wells fargo ?? could you tell me what you know about them exchanging ?? I really would love to exchange here in Alaska given the chance and they only international exchange bank is Wells. Up to thie point i thought they were a no go.... you have given me a glimmer of hope here. I would love to know what you know about wells.

In my opinion, if they don't reval the currency before they distibute the 10,000 dinars. There will be riots. 10,000 dinars valued 1 to 1 with the U.S. dollar would be a great down payment for the Iraqis that were misplaced from their homes. It would help Iraqis start their own businesses, or they could invest it into their own oil fields. The oil companies are waiting like vultures for Iraq to give the go ahead. When this happens, and all this oil starts coming out of Iraq, I expect gas prices to go down, which in turn will help the economies of countries all over the world. Now it wouldn't be right at all to let the world come in and take advantage of everthing that Iraq has to offer. These people need to get something big in return. The only way to do this is to revalue the currency, if this happens, their economy will start booming instantly.

Of the banks listed in my post the first three said they would be cashing in at any branch in th US. Washington Mutal said they would in california, but not in AZ, no clue as to why. Any other questions on this should be in the thread I inserted above.
