1. Aman isx ticker for the last week says: ISX starts trading NOV 7th.

Okay, I did notice that the USD to IQD numbers is EXACTLY the same right down to the 1469.265 for 11/2 and today 11/7 that seems odd that number for number it is the same...could be coincidence. Unless this means it will PEG to the USD as we think. I don't know...I still think today's auction has something to do with the smaller denominations we are expecting.

but the auctions are buying and selling usd, NOT DINAR. so why would the amount they bought or sold of DOLLARS have anything to do with dinar being distributed?? ok, now if they sold dollars to other countries it would be for the other currencies of those countries, but when they sell within the country i would think they are buying up dinar and my guess would be buying up all those larger denoms.

Nazim Al-Gabri said in a telephone conversation with the News Agency (Voices of Iraq) Independent today, "devoted the Basra governorate (10) million dinars for the purchase of refrigeration unit to revive the heart of Basra General Hospital in the city center."
Al-Gabri and added that "the procurement process had been conducted by the province."
The Basra General Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in Iraq where established in 1916 by the British occupation forces, The hospital called (Maud) to the Commander of the British General in Iraq at the time.

I have no idea what to think of these auctions....they are over my head....something is going on though....I will go back down in the trenches and see what I can find.....

Yeah, that ain't buyin' squat. 10M Dinars equates to $7101.47 US dollars. What kind of Refigeration unit are they hoping to purchase for that amount? Unless they're taking this very literally, and going to go buy a couple of fridgidaire kitchen refrigerators...

"Hey, where's that organ we need for the transplant?"
"Check the fridge, next to my lunch".

Highest dinar rate to dollar in 2006-Central Bank

Baghdad, Nov 7, (VOI) – The demand for dollar at the Iraqi Central Bank daily auction was on Tuesday the highest through year 2006 while the Iraqi dinar scored its highest exchange rate to the dollar, fetching 1,468 dinars compared to 1,470 dinars in the previous session.
Demand was up $39 million to $109.150 million from $70 on Thursday, the bank said in its daily statement.
The bank covered bids which were $41.650 million in cash and $67.500 million in foreign transfers.
Three banks that bid for dollars at Tuesday’s auction offered to sell $3 million at an exchange rate of 1466 dinars to the dollar.
The expert Abdul-Razzaq al-Ibaychi told VOI : “The highest demand for dollar was attributed to the five day recess of the Iraqi Central Bank daily auction due to the curfew imposed on Baghdad.”
Another factor to the highest demand for dollar was the rise in foreign transfers as people feared a more deteriorated security in Iraq after a death verdict was delivered on Sunday by the Iraqi high criminal court against the former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, he added.

ISX traded on the 1st and trade again tommorow. There also would be a trading session on the 6th but because of curfews this one is cancelled.

Forgive my ignorance here, but where are you seeing the Aman ISX Ticker that states what you are posting about? Do you have a URL to provide?
