    hi all,
great post today. today i went to united mo. bank and asked if i could still buy more dinar or have they stoped selling. they told me they have not been told anything about not being able to sell anymore. they said they had purchased some for another customer yesterday. so i order some more today and we'll see if it comes in tomorrow. i also asked them again about the turn around time, they are sticking with their original story three weeks from when you cash out and what ever day they finally check the money to make sure its good, then that will be the rate of exchange you'll receive. they don't have a machine at any of their banks to check iraqi dinar, they said they would have to send it off to their vendor to have it checked. the same people they buy it from! i asked them what are they going to do if this thing hits and all of the other banks start taking in the dinar and are giving us the the rate of exchange as soon as we walk through the door. she seemed surprised i said this. i told here that chase bank will give the exchange right their and then.(so i've heard on this form) also B of A told me 2 days for the exchange if you have an account other wise it will be 2 weeks, but you receive the exchange rate the day you take it in to them.(once it's traded internationally)does anyone know where we can take our dinar to have it checked right in front of us and make a quicker and smoother transaction? i would appreciate any feed back or responses!!!!

No matter what if there is troop movement then something is up!!!

If there is enough movement for him to be excited or mention as well as that noticeable in size and he has no knowledge of why...

They probably were told is was just a normal level of preparedness or something under law, but troops know when there is movement something is getting ready to happen and that preparedness stuff is just that bs stuff...

I hope it is something in the favor of laws being past, handouts, rv, etc...

If I knew what kinda of movement, battalion, or infantry I could try to filter out what I would think is going on better...

Thanks for sharing with us Gloribee

from what i understand you wont be going with your dinar to their regional centers where they will do the actual checking of your dinar. apparently from info earlier on this board your dinar goes to nyc if you are east of the mississippi and if you are west it goes to cali. my suggestion would be for the quickest turn around nyc branch of any of these major players we have been hearing about that are in iraq already, chase, boa, etc.

you will be dealing with banking institutions that arent in the habit of ripping people off last i checked other than charging you for stupid little stuff when you have accounts, lol. if you dont trust the banks then you might think about digging a hole and gettin a funk and wagnalls mayonaise jar and storing it that way, only getting out what you need at a time, on a moonless night with no flashlight.

It would not at all shock me if Iraq intended to wait till after US elections to pass all laws and RV out of spite due to all the US backdoor pressure they have been getting... A private message in a sort of way back to US by waiting till the day after elections, an in your face ha ha type of message...

Default Iraq is world's second most corrupt country

Iraq is world's second most corrupt country
Transparency International report on corruption shows oil rich Iraq among world’s most corrupt countries.
    By Deborah Cole

BERLIN, 07 November 2006 (Middle East Online)
Haiti, Iraq and Myanmar are perceived as the most corrupt countries in the world while Finland is seen as the cleanest, a respected global graft watchdog reported Monday.

Transparency International (TI) said in its annual Corruption Perceptions Index covering 163 countries that some of the world's poorest nations were also the most sleaze-ridden, undermining international development efforts.

"Corruption is still a cold, hard fact of life in the 21st century," the chairwoman of the Berlin-based organization, Huguette Labelle, told a news conference.

"The reality is that it compromises the lives of millions of people and we know, according to the World Bank, that about one trillion US dollars is lost every year to bribes around the world."

The index score relates to perceptions of the degree of corruption as seen by business people and country analysts and ranges between zero, which is highly corrupt, and 10, which is very clean.

The worst levels of corruption were seen in Haiti, which scored just 1.8, followed by Myanmar, Iraq and Guinea, which tied at 1.9.

Labelle said that because the index is based on subjective perceptions, the fact Iraq had plummeted in the ratings may be rooted in the bigger international profile of the country since the US-led invasion in 2003 and the huge influx of reconstruction funds.

But TI chief executive David Nussbaum said the violence and mayhem wracking the oil-rich country were clearly hobbling anti-graft and rebuilding efforts.

"Corruption in Iraq is very bad," he said.

"Because there has been conflict across the country and in this case chronic conflict, that tends to mean that the things that uphold integrity in a country are not functioning."

The organization noted that the index includes only those countries that feature in at least three surveys, meaning that many nations -- including some which could be among the most corrupt -- were missing from the list.

TI said many countries' weak performance could be blamed in part on "facilitators of corruption", often from the West, who help political elites launder or protect unjustly acquired wealth, including looted state assets.

"Bribe payers and bribe takers are often brought together by third parties -- the facilitators who enable the corrupt to steal the wealth of nations from their citizens," Nussbaum said.

"Without them, large-scale corruption could not happen."

TI called for a number of measures to fight such facilitation including the adoption of corruption-specific codes of conduct by professional associations, professional training to ensure honest intermediaries do not become unwitting accomplices and legal sanctions for professionals who enable corruption.

It also urged stronger scrutiny of the role of non-transparent financial centers in aiding graft.
You kind of wonder if Iraq can get the corruption under control.
