This was a projected number. The International compact has 22 member countries in which 8 of them represent the G-8 countries of the world. The G-8 is responsible for 65% of the worlds trade. You now have the Worlds economies backing the dinar and we waiting for them to get thier ducks in a row in order to trade Internationally. Less than 1 to 1 is not a option. I am really surprised the naysayers dont get this.

Egypt on Saturday welcomed the Mecca agreement reached by major Iraqi factions, in which Muslim Shiite and Sunni groups called for a stop to bloodshed and an end to sectarian violence, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit said in a press statement.
Abul Gheit said the meeting in the Saudi holy city of Mecca mirrored the everyone's keenness on the safety and security of the Iraqis, the official news agency MENA said.
"All acts of violence and terrorism in Iraq have nothing to do with Islam. They are committed by a misled group that does not wish Iraqis any good", Abul Gheit said.

And to go hand in hand, Sadam has asked people to not seek revenge for his sentence. I believe the term he used was "shake hands".A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face... then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
A little fellow shouted, "Cause your feet ain't empty."

Interesting,
Personally, I think the dollar will remain the benchmark for obvious reasons, this was all planned out when Saddam was ousted. Just as with Kuwait, there is an obligation that comes with saving a country, as was the case with Kuwait invasion, and now Iraq ouster of Saddam, the worst dictator in decades, if not all time. (g)
I doubt we will see the benchmark move to EURO anytime soon, but it has nothing to do with it as far as what each individual should do to protect themselves. The dollar has already been showing signs of weakening, and with Chavez re-elected, along with Iran's games with nuclear playing U.S. like a bad fiddle, it sure is an interesting time to reconcider your position on dollar.
It is no secret that VZ, Iran and China could each impact the dollar, and since economic war is far more effective than traditional warfare, it is only a matter of time and the house of cards fall in on top of dollar. We are seeing unrest in all parts of the world, and with Korea wanting to get some headlines with their nuclear testing, combined with Iran shooting off their missiles to demostrate the dangers we all face, I wouldn't hold dollars next year as I predict it will be much worse than holding dinars. While dinar will rise, as dollar falls, those who hold dinar win big, so keep that in mind all you dinar buddies who are also in U.S.
Good luck to all, Mike

Foreign transfers increase Iraqi central bank’s sale
By Dergham Mohammed Ali
Baghdad, Nov 8, (VOI) – Despite the demand for dollars was lower at the Iraqi Central Bank daily auction on Wednesday to $97.010 million from $109 million in Tuesday’s session, it remained one of the highest demands scored through year 2006.
The central bank said in its daily statement it covered bids which were $40.950 million in cash and $56.060 million in foreign transfers.
The dollar exchange rate was 1,466 dinars, two ticks lower than the previous session’s.
Three banks that bid for dollars at Wednesday’s auction offered to sell $3 million at an exchange rate of 1464 dinars to the dollar.
The expert Abdul-Razzaq al-Ibaychi attributed the rise in foreign transfers to the “Iraqis’ fears of a more deteriorated security in Iraq after a death verdict was delivered on Sunday by the Iraqi high criminal court against the former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein.”
