The auction of the Iraqi Central Bank witnessed yesterday, Tuesday, the highest demand on purchasing the dollar during the current year as well as the higher exchange rate for the dollar for over a year. Also, several banks sold dollars to the Bank where the demand for purchase registered $109 million and 150 thousand, compared with 70 million during the previous session

So yes, they are buying dollars with dinars. I believe the circulation the headline mentions is dinar, the highest amount of dinar in circulation. I would like to see the reverse right before an rv...reduce the number of dinar in circulation...at this point, I'm just watching and waiting....by the way, what's up with the stipends? someone said moday the 7th, and now it's pushed back to sunday the 12th? no surprise--just wondering what's the latest word.

    Thanks, OSWoman

Is this a speculation or has it been posted with a link?

After the defeat of Bush in the elections

I have always thought that to much POWER is BAD. Republicans had it all and never had to listen are answer to NO ONE. Now I am a Republican but, I have always thought with the Government that it is much better with one (DEMS OR REPUBS) in control of either THE HOUSE or the SENATE, and OR even the PRESIDENTIAL. But not all of the above.

Anyways, some pals and I have been debating if this will indeed help the Country of Iraqs Government, in the fact of picking up speed. You see, the way I am thinking is with Bush and all the POWER he ...HAD... may of not been that GREAT with the POWERS of Iraq that are placed in control. At Least the way it has turned out to be after these elections. Now the PEOPLE of Iraq can not say that the USA and its ALLIEDS have poachered their country into believing that their Government was pulled by a leash.

Then again it may of all been planed as well too. I Mean, BUSH knows, two more years and it is off to Paradise. Look at Tony Blair, Rumsfied, and then their will be Channey as well. Not to mention the rest that have all played apart into this, maybe PLANNED. And they are all making their departure. Anyhow, just a thought, we all determined today, that might very well be what it is, or, NOT. Everyone, Have a Great Evening.

I am a bit concerned as I live in a small town in Queensland and will probably have to rely on somebody in a capital city to do the ground work with the big banks before I will know what to do. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks Quietlight

Thumbs down The USA is now officially SCREWED!!

Democrats take control of the Senate
    AP - 29 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - Democrats wrested control of the Senate from Republicans Wednesday with an upset victory in Virginia, giving the party complete domination of Capitol Hill for the first time since 1994.

    Darn shame.
