Austrian Airlines starts flights to Iraq next month

Austrian Airlines announced Thursday the opening on December 11 of the first regular air connection between Europe and Iraq. The Austrian carrier will offer two flights a week between Vienna and Erbil, the fourth-largest Iraqi city, located in the Kurdish-controlled north of the country, the company statement said.

hey did you check out the post by ezcash about going to a different branch of b of a and told by the manager that they were talkin about it all week? that it was on then off then on then off and they were expecting a fax monday confirming the beginning of buying back dinar???? woOt!!

I would like them to trust the Italians too and start thinking of the Ferraris... nothing like a fast start to get things speeded up....currently, their mechanism appears to run like a Morris Minor....my oh my....

Thanks, yea read it, and the other poster, bubbajr. More confirmations the better. There's no doubt a lot of branches out of the loop would not know until being told on the day that they are now live with a currency. We know for a fact the dinar has been on BoA's books so it was only a matter of time till it was traded internationally.

All good folks, reckon if they do start trading next week we will have our FIL slipped into the Gazette or further afield like alsabaah.

We also know with the big meetng on the 20th and the implementation of the Compact that they have to have a currency with a rate on a par with worldwide currencies thay are dealing with tradewise.

Also read an article about the Russians getting impatient with the lack of movement in Iraq. Throw that in with the Kurds and well, bring it on Shabby baby.

For sure, had a nose around, not too many articles about, all very quiet.

I did speak to my dealer last night on email. He has always said we're a long way off etc, but the reply I got was very encouraging. He reckons it will be a lot sooner now the Dems are in. Got to know him pretty well and he's as honest as dealers go and never 'missold' me any info so for him to say we're close is excellent news as he has contacts in Kuwait and Jordan.
