Thursday, November 09, 2006 Highest demand on purchasing dollars in 2006- Iraq
(MENAFN) Official Iraqi sources at the Iraqi Central Bank stated that the auction at the bank witnessed recently the highest demand on purchasing the dollar through 2006 due to the high exchange rate, Iraq Directory reported. The officials added that several banks sold dollars to the central Bank where the demand for purchase reached nearly $109 million. Many factors helped to lift demand for the dollar, such as the suspension of the auction for more than five days because of the curfew and the holiday on Friday and Saturday, an economic expert said.

Agreed, hope for the Iraqi people and us that this happens for sure this year. The longer it goes on the more subdued we'll be. Just hope it doesn't go into next year, sure it won't.

Come on guys, this it?! The total amount of dinar investors wanting to party when this baby hits?! Disappointing to say the least. We've worked hard on this and deserve to celebrate when the time comes. We've shared something between us that can never be taken away and the r/v party is the time to unwind, be happy and celebrate our achievements and forge friendships in person we can carry on for the rest of our lives.

I'm discouraged in the current turn out.....makes you feel like your wasting your time bringing info here.

Just checked this site...the EURIQD is higher than it's been in a long time.
Any thoughts?

Adster while your here can you address this- some one asked before what the significance of having International flights and airlines has to do with having an International currency?

I think everyone is a little guarded and cautiously optimistic. Trust me Adster, if this hits on Sunday..the turnout on ROLCLUB will speak for itself.

but remember when they have RV all their currency RV and a dinar is a dinar in country and everything they have at the CBI and in banks ect has changed amount too

you also have to remember that they have been pushing people to put money in the bank. they are most definately not going to had out 10,000+ dinar to every person because the people are going to leave most of it if not all in a bank account. I wonder how much money the US gov. would have to pay out if everyone emptied their bank account all at once.

Mike, the more international airlines that fly into Kurdistan/Baghdad the more the demand is for an international currency. I remember reading recently that they were setting up currency exchange booths in Baghdad, now how can they do this without an international currency? Can't be done. Let's face it, you fly from your home airport, you may need to buy currency of your destination, and vice versa, no different if you're flying out of Iraq.

The more foreign activities in Baghdad/Kurdistan etc the better for all of us.

What is also interesting is that all the shiite the western media portray and yet so many companies want to risk and get involved in Iraq, now why would they do this??? hhhmm...............
