I know they said they were going to start handing them out, but has anyone recieved any conformation that this is actually happening?
I am still of a firm belief that a reval must happen in conjuntion with these cards, as well even if by some wierd chance its only $6.80, this could be another avenue for distribution of the smaller denominations.
$6.80 is a slap in the face as we all know, so I think a reval is still coming in the next day or so. JMHO, but boy would I love to call it FACT!!!

Hmm, caught up with this response SGS posted earlier. I don't really have to heed nor be glued by all of what SGS has done to provide her part and insight of the facts churning out faster than one can blink however, objectively looking at the current spate of factoids (if one can regard them as any or such) she is doing by far an impeccable job at it!
Was it due to the Alaskan temperatures that drove her to the limits we see posted in our Forum? I chose to believe... it must be the Hallibut's oil thats keeping her up to it...
Anyway, to all that literally read and follow and seem prepared to sway with SGS predictions.... remember there is Adster too and us all that is on the bandwagon and wanting, panting, murmuring for an answer.... we all basically want to hear the bottomline: Yes or NO or next time try again , whatever!!!
If you are not cut out to put up with the ongoing postings and longish list s of reportings.... better S. O. and give yrself a break...go do some gardening and think up of new spots to dig, hide your Dinars and make sure your Jack Russell isn't looking when you bury and stash away your precious treasure...
I kinda enjoy reading them, its like reading the newspaper really! So, be happy and grateful we have great contributors spending their time and research just to provide you some time of theirs and extra information to share with us all....
On top of it all, Adster is getting me that case/keg of Giinness...what a bag of a lad...he's probably born to make Baghdad his homestead next!!!
As for SGS... we could get her a truckload of BabySham or champagne to bath her ...that would be fun seeing her sparkle through...
YB. - cheers to all and save your moaning or discontentment and rejoice being here to make another day worth living and be filled with positive ions rather than stack yrself to the corner and groan-moan and feel alone... BE HAPPY and its good for ya Chi or karma too!!!
S. O. = switch off.

Wouldn't we find out about the 10K hand out from the smaller newspapers? I personally use susie's bookmarks for news...but then I believe that if there was a reval with the 10K hand out, the news would make it to ALL papers...
Also, can people take this money home , or that's only to make them open a bank account?
And what kind of facking boost to economy would be $7 - not even per person, it is PER FAMILY. I thought we've had an article saying that this hand out will boost the economy...
Just babbling here...as I am not sure if they did indeed start that 10K handout...:(

Just a thought, to why there was not a lot of activity on the auction and all of the other banks. Is that they are in that five day training program.
Just remember it is just a thought.

Sixteen high-ranking officials from Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) are to attend five-day training programme on banking supervision in Bahrain, starting tomorrow. The five-day programme is being conducted by the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance (BIBF) in co-operation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Federal Reserve Bank of New York (Fed NY) .
The workshop, at the BIBF premises in Juffair, will be conducted by a team of international experts from the IMF and Fed NY.
BIBF was selected to host this important workshop because of Bahrain's excellent reputation as a leading world financial hub and the Institute's ability to provide world-class training and business advisory services, said BIBF deputy director and head of Banking Learning Centre, Hussain Ismail.
For the last two-and-a-half years, the IMF and the Fed NY have co-ordinated their efforts to provide technical assistance to the CBI to help in the reconstruction and development of the Iraqi economy.
A comprehensive initial training curriculum was defined and has been implemented between 2004 and early this year for staff of the CBI's Banking Supervision Department (BSD) and a series of joint workshops were delivered, covering all key banking supervisory issues.
The workshop in Bahrain is the first in a new series of training programmes. It will be focusing on the practical implementation in the field of banking supervision as well as reviewing the actual work and outputs produced by the Iraqi supervisors, in order to give them feedback and guidance on how to improve their scope and their quality, both for off-site and on-site supervision.
"This programme is part of a series of successful workshops, which will further contribute to the training and education process of the Iraqi people," said Mr Ismail.
Another workshop on banking supervision was conducted successfully at the BIBF in June 2004.

I am beginning to think that this is a problem of one side of the GOI not knowing what the "other" hand is doing. They decided to give the distribution and someone finally realized that without an RV then a distribution of 10000 dinar would have a demoralizing effect on the people instead of a positive one and thats why they are delaying the distribution. After my tour in Iraq, my impression was that they are used to having money, BMWs sending their kids to other universities and enjoying a high standard of living. They (GOI) are not stupid, but they are not experienced in the coordination of government. The distribution has been announced. This we know. So what will be the value in pruchasing power for the people. I think it needs to at least an amount that will allow the people to improve their lives, like purchasing durable goods, such as appliances, cars or parts etc. This should be considered a "prime the pump" economic move. Not unlike a tax rebate. This we know is a strategy that was used by the current US administration. And if current US employment numbers and the stock market levels are any indication, it is an effective economic stimulus. We'll see in the next day or two how other auctions go and what news is announced. Thanks to all for your posts. I for one, sometimes have trouble keeping up, but as the news increases with all of the activity I expect the posts on news and events to continue to increase. Your comments are appreicated.

To everybody
Despite this painful losses and humiliation in our country I ask the manager of this website to ask Ch4 in the UK to send him/her a copy of two documentaries they have shown two and three days ago about the life in Iraq. One is called the wasted youth and the other one called the Death Squads. Let the people from outside see what is happening in Iraq now. What ever bad President Saddam Hussein has caused is nothing compared with what those criminals has caused. Just read this article http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6129612.stm about just part of the cash which has disappeared from our banks and accounts. The report concentrate on 8 billions which the american criminal who supposed to look after it do not know where it has gone and he answers by saying does it matter?
We have seen in many articles posted here how money has gone missing. Ever wonder who it and why? Wonder wht no one is investigating 8 billion dollars missing? Because they (who took it) want us to forget about it. Maybe we (US) took it and gave to Iraq to pay the iraqi people their 10k at new value. Who knows? I find it weird no one is checking this out. And why do they say "It doesn't matter?" 8 Billion doesn't matter?

I think I read a while back that maybe they would hand out the checks/cards while they were still only worth $7 because that might go over a little better than trying to hand out checks/cards worth 10k+ But the Iraqis would not be able to redeem them until distribution was complete....and THEN....wham!!!! reval city and everybody is happy.
