a couple of days ago I posted a link to a GCC article.....it was very interesting regarding the Countries that are to make up the GCC. If Iraq wants to become part of the GCC they need to get their act together quick. In this article it was suggested that the GCC money be Pegged to the US dollar, but that it could be pegged to a "basket" of other currencies. With recent debt relief from Saudis and Iraqs own comments of value of dinar matching surrounding countries the peg could be anywhere from .27 (Saudi Arabia) to 3.47 (Kuwait) or 1.55 (Jordan). Whatever it is pegged at we know that it has to be done before 2007 as there are many controled steps to be in the GCC that commence in 2007 in preperation for 2010. I think I just rammbled a bit...sorry.

Just trying to keep up!!!
Hi Everyone,
I have read most of the posts today. But obviously no RV today but do you all think tomorrow will be promising or do you think it will be more likely after the Compact is signed. I also was wondering about when the Compact is being signed I have heard the 30th November and 11th December. Also any word on the 10,000 Gift I do not believe I read anything in the tread about it but I may have missed it as I have been popping in a few times today.
Thanks for your help.
Dinar-ExcitedKeep a positive mind.

BAGHDAD, Iraq: National carrier Iraqi Airways announced Sunday it wanted to buy at least five Boeing 737-400 passenger jets in what appeared to be a step to facilitate increasing traffic to and from Iraq.
An English-language statement posted in the pro-government daily Al-Sabah read that "companies authorized to sell such aircraft are invited to submit their tenders" by Dec. 4.
Iraqi Airways resumed flights after the U.S. invasion toppled Saddam Hussein regime in 2003. The national carrier currently flies to several countries including Egypt, Syria, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates in addition to domestic flights.
Though Iraq was under a U.N. travel ban from 1990 until Saddam's regime collapsed, the former Iraqi leader repeatedly defied the sanctions and allowed pilgrims to fly to the Saudi Red Sea city of Jiddah on their way to the holy city of Mecca.

GCC to Adopt Strategy to Deal With Iraq: Naif
JEDDAH, 13 November 2006 — “Iraq now constitutes the main base of terrorists,” Interior Minister Prince Naif said yesterday, adding that the GCC countries would adopt a united strategy to deal with events in the war-torn country.
“The condition in Iraq is changing day by day, posing multiple dangers for the region. We are living this situation and doing everything possible,” the Saudi Press Agency quoted Prince Naif as saying.
He was speaking to reporters in Riyadh yesterday before leaving for Abu Dhabi to attend a meeting of GCC interior ministers.
Prince Naif said terrorism would figure high on the agenda of the meeting.
He said some agencies were taking young Saudis to Iraq and using them as “explosives”. “I mean they are being used to carry out explosions. ... These youths go to Jordan and Syria ... and then sneak into Iraq. They will never be able to do that through our borders,” he said.
Speaking about his meeting with Iraqi Vice President Tarek Al-Hashmi in Makkah, Naif said it was a cordial meeting and not for discussing any particular issue.
Prince Naif said the trial of suspects involved in terrorist attacks across the Kingdom would start soon.
He called for greater security cooperation among the six GCC states. “We have to act like one agency in dealing with security matters,” he said.
He said the GCC secretariat was conducting a study on thoughts and ideas that promote terrorism and how to deal with them.
The Abu Dhabi meeting will also discuss ways of facilitating travel of GCC citizens between the member countries, Naif said.

Boeing Blowout Sale!
This should be yet another NO-BRAINER to revalue the currency. When you start buying items like 30-40 million dollar jets wouldn't it be better to do it with 30 million dinars verses 30 billion dinar or more? If they revaled before making this deal they could get these planes for roughly $3,000,000 each or less!
