The reason new bills are being printed as some are reporting is to be used for exchange when we go and cash in our bigger notes. Not as if you could walk around with a 5k dinar note if it was worth $16550 which it will be if the latest rumour comes true!

I think you are probably reading this backwards and not seeing how big it would be.

.31ID = 1 USD means 1 ID = 3.225 USD !!!!

WAAAY higher than I had considered likely.

Johnny, the 'word on the street' is .31ID:$1 which is higher than a 1:1. This is what I'm hearing for the dates below.

Thanks everyone, especially you Mike. I just was wanting a little pep talk. I appreciate it very much. Now, exactly what is zero lopping and why would that be done or how would that help anything? Who would benifit from zero lopping?

After examining the 1000 dinar notes that I have, it looks to me that all the precausions that were taken to prevent counterfeiting must have been very expensive so, I don't see how a reprint could possibly benifit anyone.

Please forget zero lopping, it's been discussed many times and it really won't happen.

As for the notes yes the current ones are harder to forge than any other notes out there and they will not be replaced until Iraq enter the GCC around 2010. To enter the GCC Iraq's currency has to be at least on a par with the other countries, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia etc, then there will be 1 currency.

We'll have been long gone by then.

No problem Rodney, I know what you mean. We all need a reality check from time to time as we have all been down the same road where just before we reach financial freedom, POOF, something takes it away, as in the PIPS poof, so I completely understand. This is why I pressed myself to come up with a potential reason for drop in value, and it does not exist, and that includes lopping which clearly does not make any sense either.

We have all heard so many naysayers over this issue, and some of us have heard it for years. After all, I heard it way back to first Gulf war and it cost me millions as I shyed away from investing what my two associates did. They didn't listen to the naysayers, all the so called experts, and they came out millionaires, me, I semi listened and came up short. (g)

This is why I look at everything today, and listen to no one, as there is no one who can really say what is going to happen with Iraq, it is just too unique of a situation, not even close to Kuwait scenario, so we all just have to wait. Not much longer, but at least PIPS taught us all how to have patience. (g) Is everyone having fun yet? LOL

He is a very proper, british, sounding man and EVEN HE was excited with the last 24 hours activity!!! "I really don't think it will be long now, my dear" were his exact words! Just another source, not associated with the ones in here!

I can't even begin to THINK about it hitting that high!!! Others are saying starting low and then climbing...I like yours best....BAM!!! Take THAT!

My dealer said (Bruce) that we were close too, not that this info is from him.

Well the source is a well respected member of forums, and has inside info, but hey that's not the first time I've said this about a rumour! I'm just telling all what's being said elsewhere.

My personal thoughts are a 1:1 at the end of the month. Hope I'm wrong!
