Oh..come on now....this is why everyone gets so excited about information that is incorrect. Iraq has NEVER said this. If you are referring to the article where they said '148 to the dollar'...that could mean any number of things. Geez.

too much money chasing too few goods equals inflation.

I am probably way off the mark here but what the heck. I am beginning to think the original plan was to have the reval prior to now. Just a hunch. If it weren't for so many bad things happening, slowwww new goverment, increase violence including attacks on Mosques. I am of the opinion that last spring was the intended reval time frame. But now they have so much to climb out from under they are having tough time getting it done. The good old fix now or work harder to fix down the road.

talking to a member of the research team, she went to bank of america on thursday and talking to her coucellor in there, she asked if he had heard any more about the dinar or about its revalue. he became flustered and started shuffling papers about and said they had gotten several dates in the last YEAR AND A HALF concerning that but all of them had been postponed or cancelled. she asked about hearing it being traded on monday from a bank of america and thats when he started averting his eyes from her and looking more nervous and stated he hadnt heard that. when she left and said she was ready to be rich he smiled real big and said 'i bet you are!'

last year and a half huh. hmm, they been getting dates that have fallen through for a year and a half already. how nice is that??

SGS, we are hearing now that some have been told by Chase that in order to exchange their dinar for dollars they will have to have had an account with them for one year. Have you heard anything like that for BoA?

By Anne Gearan, AP Diplomatic Writer | November 18, 2006

HANOI, Vietnam --After vigorously rejecting comparisons between the U.S. wars in Vietnam and Iraq, the Bush administration found a parallel it liked on Saturday.

    | Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told business executives that Iraq could be the kind of success story that postwar and communist Vietnam has become if its leaders make the same kind of strategic choices.

Vietnam is Southeast Asia's fastest-growing economy and a regional trade center 30 years after the U.S. military defeat here, a success that once might have seemed far-fetched, Rice said.

"Thirty years ago, what American would have thought that we would be standing in Vietnam ... talking about free markets and open trade," Rice asked.

"I don't mean to diminish the difficulties that we have in Iraq or that the Iraqi people have in Iraq," she said during a question-and-answer session after the speech. "But the Iraqis, if they do make good decisions, like Vietnam has made good decisions," can turn their country into a democratic success that will one day seem unremarkable, she said.

On her way to Vietnam to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, Rice had rejected comparisons of Iraq and Vietnam as inaccurate and "not helpful" and ticked off a detailed list of differences between the two conflicts.

Her boss, President Bush, also rejected that comparison during remarks after his arrival here Friday.

    ------

Rice learned there may be a benefit to having a state-controlled press: no tough questions.

Hordes of journalists usually pepper her with tough queries, but she got off easy when Vietnamese journalists ignored thorny world issues to politely ask how often she plays the piano.

"I try to play at least once a week or so," said Rice, an accomplished pianist. "It's very important to me."

Rice and Bush are on their first visit to Vietnam as Hanoi hosts the 21-member APEC summit -- the country's biggest event ever.

But given a chance to lob their best questions, Vietnamese journalists were more interested in her thoughts about their country than on North Korea's nuclear program or the Iraq war.

"The Vietnamese people are very friendly. So it's been fun. I wish I could stay longer," Rice said.

Vietnam's media is made up of mostly young people who come from a system where authority figures aren't questioned, and rote learning is emphasized over critical thinking. Few have studied Western-style journalism, and all news remains censored by the communist government. A CNN report on the summit was blacked out Friday and replaced by a blue screen and classical music.

I know that many people here don't believe what our good friend Dr. Qaddouri has said in the past, but he still maintains the same position that you have posted. He has been frustrated from day one with what is going on over there and the lack of movement.

However, with the recent activities of the CBI, his prediction of the revaluation may have been right on all along, albeit just a little later than originally thought.

Hey, what’s 12 months? That’s just more time to acquire more real friends prior to your wealth. Because I'm sure they will be coming out of the woodwork after!
