Wow, that's two in a row that were early.. Nice, I can start getting another hour and a half sleep.

I have read the last 30 or so pages and I see that a major debate of what the auction really does.

I have not read the PDF that was put up in regards to this, but I will tomorrow. However, when I first got into this I researched everything I could find in regards to what the auctions were all about. What I found was that there are days that they would sell Dinar and days they would sell Dollars. This is to keep the exchange rate stable, by flooding the economy with Dinars (to lower the value) or pull them out (raise the value). For the most part they have always zeroed out each other.

This is why you see two different rows. I think that for those of you that believe otherwise, you could be mistaken because unless you specifically knew to watch for Dollar sales vs. Dinar sales, you would just see a row filled with a USD amount and not realize what row it was in. If it changed and you weren't looking for it, you would miss it. It wasn't until both rows were filled a couple of weeks ago that people took notice (we got a few calls about that too!)

Here is the problem, and one that I find very interesting. As was mentioned before, once a new auction is posted, you only can see the total volume for the prior days in the PDF. So unless you were saving (screen capture, save as, or cut-n-paste) the daily auction numbers, you have no idea what was going in our out of the CBI.

Now here is the interesting part. I believe that it was mentioned on this board before, but August and October are missing. Now I create PDF files everyday in our business, it’s easy for people to read, you can protect them, and you can amend them. However it is not easy to delete pages. It’s something that has to be done on purpose. Now I am pretty sure that those pages were there before as I have viewed that document several times. So why are those months now missing? I am very interested in seeing October’s numbers, not that I would know much more, but it’s still a missing piece of the puzzle.

Now I could be wrong about these auctions, and I will be the first to admit it if this is the case. What I think we can all agree on is that the CBI either keeps sloppy records, or they are hiding something.

One other thing to note; since the Dinar is not traded internationally (yet), the only way for them to raise the value is to create supply and demand. It’s really a closed economy, so the CBI is creating a supply and demand by pulling Dinar. If they were not, then what is to stop the value from dropping? We know where its going to go when it opens up, but until that time, pulling Dinar from circulation helps them raise the value (if ever so slightly) and reduces their liability when it does open up.

FYI, we will not have a conference call on Thursday, but I will send out an email to our members, and then later, if it’s not done already, I will post it. I plan on putting together the numbers in detail that I posted last week, plus the last three auctions since. My numbers also went from Nov 1st. With the exception of maybe one, I have all of the auctions saved since Nov 1.

In this age of gadget (of which I am known) who would have thought about using a tape recorder and just holding it up to the speakers?

It is a video, and of course I would rather have him watch it (I got your link SGS). As a last resort I will do the tape thingy... Now, if I can just my tape recorder.. It might be in the garage next to my old 8-track player?

Iraq's brutal sectarian conflict moved indoors Tuesday as Sunni and Shiite legislators yelled accusations at one another over the relentless bloodshed in the streets.

The dean of the Sunni bloc, Adnan al-Dulaimi, whose Iraqi Accordance Front holds 44 seats in the 275-seat body, accused Shiite lawmakers of treating his fellow Sunnis as if there were "fire worshippers or Jews."

Tuesday's verbal war started when Shiite legislator Jalal al-Saghir said the Iraq army should be deployed in Baghdad's predominantly Sunni Adil and Jamiaa neighborhoods to prevent attacks on Shiites, the minority in those regions of the capital.

Al-Dulaimi, who lives in Adil, took it personally.

"Sheik Jalal, is one of those who incite sectarian strife. I wish he wouldn't speak this way. It's a conspiracy." al-Dulaimi shouted angrily. "When he speaks about the Adil neighborhood, it means he is speaking about me."

"We have extended our hands to you (Shiites) for the good of Iraq. We ask you to respect us, to respect our existence. But, as I have said before, you here in parliament treat us as if we were fire worshippers or Jews," al-Dulaimi said.

After more angry, shouted outbursts during which his hands visibly shook, al-Dulaimi stormed out of the chamber, claiming he had an appointment.

The verbal warfare broke out a day after Shiite Prime Minster Nouri al-Maliki charged that some members of parliament had links to the militias and "terrorists" who are stoking violence. Al-Maliki said those lawmakers, whom he did not name, should resign. The prime minister has promised to reshuffle his Cabinet, but so far has taken no action.

Earlier in the angry exchange, another Shiite legislator, Hadi al-Amiri, had blasted the Sunni parliamentary dean for his perceived criticism of the government during a trip to Jordan last week.

"We should all be like one hand in building this state and in seriously contributing to building it, but to curse this government while we are part, it is political hypocrisy," al-Amiri said.

"This will be worse than the suffering we are living now," he said.
