Yes they have massive oil reserves, however they have pissed off the US, just like Syria and Iran. If Cuba had large Oil reserves do you think their currencey would be any different. I think that we should watch countries that work with the US, such as Kuwait. These other countries (Syria, Iran, Venezuela) are not in the WTO, which we all know that the US and other countries are pushing for Iraq membership. anada has large amount of Oil...however it is in the "tar sands" which make it difficult and costly to extract.

The Shiite bloc worry Washington's allies

The Shiite bloc worry Washington's allies
Washington-Beirut-Riyadh - Amman-file-Presse Sally Bozobi-agency
Fear of "Shiite bloc" strong had arrived in large part to the degree of excitement across the Middle East. Some of the major allies of the United States are among the most restless.
Whether, in fact, the depth of the strategic or simply long-standing inequities, the sectarian tension Burj Arab Sunni regimes, The damage efforts to work for the stability of Iraq and the containment of Iran, the Shiite-might be behind the new payment to the Palestinian-Israeli peace.
Violence in Iraq and the growing strength of Iran are the main factors behind what he calls some hysteria of anti-Shiite. And the influence of the Lebanese Shiite Hizbollah summer after the war with Israel also one of the indicators.
Current trends together incite a negative reaction from the Sunni Arab governments and increase the "specter of conflicts on the border between the two groups that could threaten stability in the region," according to Valle Nasr known American expert.
Indicators that baffle the imagination :
In Saudi Arabia, newspapers overcrowded warnings of clerics who argue year-باثباتات few - that the Muslims across the Middle East are turning to the Shiites. At this time, the Saudi government pressure from behind the curtain on the year of Iraqis to unite against the coarse political power to the Shiites there.
In Jordan, authorities rejected plans to build a new mosque, a Shiite, while talking clergy year in Sri intrigue on the Shiite doctrine of the year to convert the circular, in the province-again without evidence. But many diplomats are concerned that the stability of Jordan would be in jeopardy if the civil war exploded in Iraq.
In the Gulf, and from the great Dubai, Bahrain and Qatar. fear of Iran, blended with the non-consensus on how to deal with outstanding visibility. This has left the province the main political groups to beat on any steps that could be taken.
Even in Egypt concern from Hezbollah and Iran shows that they are behind the new efforts to push towards a Palestinian-Israeli peace.
In fact, fear may produce a flash of hope for one of the difficult topics in the province at least, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt urged the new American efforts to reach a peace deal, In one of the reasons, they hope to achieve a breakthrough can achieve balance with the rising influence of the Hezbollah-Iran-course. And to achieve development in the Palestinian issue, as evidenced discussions, it will lead the Arabs to embrace moderate governments, not radical movements such as Hezbollah. The lack of such a development on the other hand will increase the vulnerability of the Sunni clearly remains popular Hezbollah, the most important "exacerbating the sensitivity of the year against Shiite multinational groups," she says Judith Peacekeeper Arab expert at the Institute of Foreign Relations in New York.
However, the thinking all Americans and Arab diplomats are working to prepare for a meeting between the Palestinians and Israelis, Arabs and Americans this month in Jordan also said Arab diplomats and Americans. At a time when it appears the damage inherent tension between the Shiites and Sunnis sharply.
For Iraq, This may mean that the Arab countries are active carve aside more than they do now and leave the violence in the highest degree. For as long as the Iraqi government accused the Sunni countries, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia not to work enough to stop the flow of money and people to strengthen the rebels year.
If breakdown Iraq also write Peacekeeper, countries like Bahrain and Lebanon may face further instability between Aglbiatha Shiite, In Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, but less influential, the Shiites also may face problems. These developments does not mean that it is Attspp concern to the West, With the leadership of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and the regional force in the major American bases in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, major oil countries, which maintain most of the oil wells in the Shiite areas. Such countries are no secret of concern : The Deputy Prime Minister, Saudi Arabia this week that his country was interested in "the proliferation of security and stability in Iraq and to keep Iraq united as before." The head of the United Arab Emirates that the security, peace and stability in the region depends on a stable and unified Iraq.
For Iran, the division between the two communities of Islamic provide much of their investment, It is believed that Iran's interest in maintaining a minimum of chaos in Iraq. Thus left pending in the United States military quagmire, Valle says Nasr.
Iran is also crucial to the continuation of the growing regional influence, and will be happy only that people look at countries such as Bahrain, as a spiritual leader and perhaps one day a political leader.
Sectarian tension makes Arab governments very disturbing about the hard line position of the United States against Iran. Sunni and regulations concerned confrontation may force them to face the chaos and damage in their countries.
It is believed Valle insist that the United States is now telling them to leave only concern of the Shiite aside, and trying to reassure Iraq through Iran constipation, but keep away from the clarity of the Bush administration - which insists that Iran should first stop its nuclear program - that they will do so soon.
Nasrallah says it is better for Washington to induce Tehran now on Iraq and then look on the problem, which is divided in the province.
