Will there be an auction tomorrow? Seems to me that the last time a curfew was impossed that the banks were also closed at that time. Hope I'm wrong but I don't believe well see any changes for a day or two.

    For_Immediate_Release:
Amman, Jordan (November 2005) – Jordan Commercial Bank (JCBank) recently signed an agreement with PaymentCentric Co. to deploy the innovative "eJABY" service that will allow users to make monthly bill payments electronically at any JCBank branch or through its various electronic channels.

PaymentCentric is the first of its kind in Jordan and has successfully introduced its "eJABY" bill payment service which is an integrated electronic bill payment service that allows the public to pay most of their recurring bills in real time at over 550 certified eJaby payment depots spread throughout the kingdom.

All JCBank customers can now pay their bills at any eJABY payment depot. The customer receives a unique reference number printed on the receipt provided from the bill issuer as a confirmation of each bill paid. By using the eJABY system to pay bills, JCBank customers can now settle their accounts with greater efficiency and reliability at a reduced cost.

Dr. Mohamed S. Dr. Asadi added, "The agreement between JCBank and PaymentCentric represents a result of a close working relationship between our two organizations that aimed at providing this innovative payment service to our customers."

Mr. Samir Mubarak, General Manager of PaymentCentric, added that, "The agreement with JCBank contributes to the company's earlier achievements and enhances its support for the banking sector in Jordan. We are very proud of this collaboration with JCBank. Today PaymentCentric offers its eJABY bill payment service through an extensive network of more than 550 payment depots available throughout the Kingdom via nine local banks and several money exchangers.”

JCBank operates through an integrated network of branches, ATMs, and a number of banking solutions. eJABY is a robust service which has enabled JCbank to significantly reduce processing cost of bill payments, and converts this process from one that is slow and non-profitable to one that is speedy and profitable. In addition, PaymentCentric’s eJABY service has helped enhance JCbank’s competitive edge through the offering of electronic and state-of-the-art added value services to its customers and end-users.

I agree that sometimes posts may appear to get a little off topic, but I think that's the nature of a public forum. I honestly believe that the majority of news eminating from and about Iraq is relative to our concerns.. whether the post says Dinar or not is irrelevant. I hesitated to post the article concerning Sunni - Shiite history in the "Latest News" thread knowing that it would be considered off topic, but thats where the conversation was at the time. Information has to be read, and then discussed for a forum to function properly and sometimes the direction of the discussion cannot (should not?) be controlled. I'm really not sure where else I would have posted the article anyway. Maybe another "Sticky" called ALL THINGS RELATIVE. How about a Thread on how to deal with off topic discussion? We could possibly come up with Ideas that could save Neno a lot of work. Just my thoughts

Default See Jordan- >GDP & Debt drop, 1990, started the roll!

If you read from the attached site below and look at the GDP and how the 1990 movement of Jordan's GDP and then followed by their debt reduction on the graph/chart #5 & #6 on pages #6 & #7 respectfully; you can see the direct correlation on what will be and has been followed proportionally by Iraq.

If you recall the GDP is graphed by population and in effect; if you start driving down the population by birth to death ratio; they are murderously helping their GDP by killing each other off; shameful way to build a countries wealth and destroying it's youth!

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - United Nations envoy warned Iraq on Saturday that the killings and "blind acts of revenge," which occurred in the past few days dismember Iraq and urged the government to resolve their differences and prevent a slide into civil war.

Ashraf Qazi urged the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, Iraq Iraq's neighbors also to provide assistance.

He said that the series of car bomb blasts on Thursday that killed more than 200 people in the Shiite and retaliatory attacks against the year is part of a vicious cycle of sectarian violence "is tearing apart the political and social fabric of Iraq."

The judge added in a statement : "No State can tolerate (a) such a cancer in their political" and called on all politicians and the people to show real determination to save Iraq.

The statement said : "This will not happen only through a national dialogue aimed sincere resolve major political problems and achieve national consensus in support of policies and procedures (designed) to prevent extremists from the destruction of Iraq."

He added, "Otherwise, Iraq will slide into civil war and the people become the victims of human rights catastrophe unprecedented."

There were sectarian animosity within the government, which was formed six months ago and led by Shiite politicians after exposure to the attacks. The government imposed a curfew on Baghdad since Thursday and called for calm in the hope of preventing the escalation of retaliatory attacks.

He met with President Jalal Talabani, a Kurd with prominent leaders in the government yesterday, Friday, for what he described as successful and frank exchange of views. He said that for the first time exchanged views in a frank. It is scheduled to convene another meeting on Saturday.

He said Tariq Hashemi of the Sunni deputy head of the Iraqi Al-Jazeera that it is incumbent on all parties to work together and speak the same language to send a letter similar to the Iraqi people.

However, the Iraqi Sunni cleric Harith al-Dhari prominent required under an arrest warrant issued against him this month on charges of incitement to sectarian violence accused the Iraqi government today, Saturday, of bias.

He said in a press conference in Cairo that the government was using sectarianism.

The Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has urged the fierce Friday to pass a fatwa prohibiting the killing of Shiites after a base of support for him in Baghdad and Sadr City for the bombings on Thursday killed 202 people.

Al-Sadr's aides also threatened to withdraw from the government if the Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki with the American President George W. Bush as scheduled in Jordan this week.

Last week witnessed intense political activity between Iraq and its neighbors, especially Syria and Iran, to mobilize assistance for achieving stability in the country.

The judge said that there is no country in the region stand to gain from behind, "the current tragedy" in Iraq and therefore have an obligation to help everyone.

The statement added that "Judge ... He called upon the international community, especially Iraq's neighbors, to coordinate their efforts to enable government and the people of Iraq to meet the daunting challenges of violence, mistrust and divisions that threaten Barham. "

Many challenges remain in these areas, but real progress is being made under the Prime Minister's leadership.

Iraq raises pensions to cope with inflation

Iraqi government is currently engaged in taking large and quick actions in order to face the inflationary wave resulted in a sharp rise of the prices of many services and goods which burden those with limited income, especially government employees, because of the deteriorating income, which impacted negative economic and social backgrounds.

The government has approved an amount of one trillion, 480 billion dinars to support the unemployed and help them cope with living conditions. The estimated number of beneficiaries is more than 2 million families believed to be in need of support. Minister of Labor, Sheikh Mahmoud Radi, said the government adopted this amount in the 2007 budget to provide sufficient imports of a large number of job-seekers in order to subsidize their families, in addition to adopting the draft of social protection network to support the needy families.

It is likely that attracting the unemployed would help in reducing the incidents of violence, since the terrorist organizations trying to lure them with money to implement their plans. Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki hinted, on more than one occasion, that the 2007 budget, which amounted to about $ 40 billion, is sufficient for operating a large number of projects.
