So we won't see much going on if I interpret this correctly. So the rate will hold at approximately at 1441. Give or take a little. Thanks wmknowles for the information.Wm.Knowles Hello everyone. I hope all had a good holiday. No auction today. Very little transacted the previous two auctions. So, I think the theme this week will be "Have they reached their (CBI) target level of the removal of currency from the economy. So, this week may be exciting, not by what we see, but by what we DO NOT see. If they have reached their target, then we may not see very much. I know some would say they are not having an auction today due to the violence. And, this may be part of the reason. But, when you take the last few days, and the very low amounts in the auctions, then maybe we are developing a trend of smaller auctions that are much MORE difficult to understand. Expect auctions a lot less dramatic than in the recent weeks of November. I doubt they (CBI) want to return to auctions where they are pumping large amounts of dinar into the economy, i.e. "undo" the last months auctions, but they may have reached levels where there is simply a lot less dinar available to "sweep" from the economy. When you step back and view their actions from a larger perspective, then these actions would be exactly what you would expect prior to an adjustment in the price of the Iraqi dinar, i.e. an RV. Thank you and have a good weekend.

Iraqi PM says political crisis behind violence
By Mussab Al-Khairalla
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki made an urgent plea on Sunday to the rival sectarian factions in his government to end disputes that he said were behind the bloodshed and crisis of recent days.
Mortars again crashed down in various parts of the capital, keeping nerves on edge despite a curfew that kept seven million people locked down for a third day since a mass car bombing on Thursday killed more than 200 people in a Shi'ite area.
Berating all the political leadership -- rather than shadowy militant groups as he has in the past -- Maliki told a brief televised news conference: "The ones who can stop a further deterioration and the bloodshed are the politicians."
But he added this could happen "only when they agree and all realize that there are no winners and losers in this battle."
"Let's be totally honest -- the security situation is a reflection of political disagreement," he said, surrounded by Sunni and Kurdish leaders as well as his fellow Shi'ites.
The forecast end of the curfew and reopening of the airport on Monday should let President Jalal Talabani make a delayed visit to Tehran. The other main diplomatic move to try to defuse the crisis will be a meeting on Wednesday in Jordan between Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and President Bush.
Iraq's neighbors, who fear instability spreading beyond its borders, will send their foreign ministers to a meeting at the Arab League in Cairo on December 5, Egypt's foreign minister said.
Maliki, a compromise choice for premier after months of wrangling earlier this year, has struggled to make an impact on either Iraq's security or economic problems.
Despite pressure from Washington, he has struggled to crack down on militias blamed by Sunni Arabs for thousands of death squad killings, and has said repeatedly his main priority is fighting a Sunni Arab insurgency and al Qaeda-linked militants.
He has promised a cabinet reshuffle, but if it is to have much impact, he will need to break the pattern of ministries being parceled out to political parties and thereafter run as fiefdoms of rival factions within the government.
MALIKI UNDER PRESSURE
Maliki is derided on the one hand in the once dominant Sunni minority as an agent of Shi'ite Iran, while fellow Shi'ite Islamists demand he do more to defend their interests against both the Sunnis and the United States.
The top Sunni cleric, in exile and wanted for terrorism, said on Saturday the government was "exploiting sectarianism" while Talabani's Sunni vice president demanded a rebalancing of priorities, a "real government of national unity".
Radical Shi'ite cleric and militia leader Moqtada al-Sadr, a key Maliki ally, demanded after Thursday's bombing of his Sadr City stronghold that the prime minister not meet Bush or his followers would quit the government and parliament.
A U.N. envoy urged the government on Saturday to stop the "cancer" of sectarianism from destroying the country.
Talabani's visit to anti-American Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whom Washington accuses of backing Shi'ite militants in Iraq, is part of efforts to involve Iraq's neighbors in efforts to prevent civil war.
Bush appears sceptical of what his adversaries Iran and Syria are willing to do. However, Vice President Dick Cheney made a brief visit to Sunni-ruled Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
A Western diplomat said the United States wanted to counter the threat from Iran and Syria by co-opting moderate Arab nations on both Iraq and the Palestinian-Israeli issue and the current diplomatic push was proof of this.
Next month's meeting in Cairo, announced on Sunday by Egypt, will be the first such meeting since nine ministers -- from Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Turkey -- met in Tehran in July.
"This meeting must come out with a clear Arab position on the current events in Iraq, ... rejecting all forms of violence, fanaticism and sectarianism," Egypt's foreign ministry said.

I don't believe in the Wild West but...
"As long as we live in this world, we are bound to encounter problems. If, at such times, we lose hope and become discouraged, we diminish our ability to face difficulties. If, on the other hand, we remember that it is not just ourselves but also everyone who has to undergo suffering, this more realistic perspective will increase our determination and capacity to overcome troubles." I know that this is MSM but I thought that this was a very promising story.
Leaders pledge to track Iraqi insurgents - Yahoo! News
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's leaders promised Sunday to track down those responsible for the war's deadliest attack by insurgents, and urged the country's Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish politicians to stop fanning sectarian violence by arguing with one another.
"We promise the great martyrs that we will chase the killers and criminals, the terrorists, Saddamists and Takfiri (Sunni extremists) for viciously trying to divide you," the country's top politicians said in a statement Sunday, referring to the 215 people who died when Sunni insurgents attacked Sadr City, the capital's main Shiite district, on Thursday.
Government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh read the statement on national television as Shiite Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, Sunni Parliament speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani and Kurdish President Jalal Talabani stood around him.
Now that is impressive. When is the last time they stood together on anything!!!
Al-Maliki also urged his national unity government of Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds to curb the sectarian violence by stopping their public disputes.
"The crisis is political, and it is the politicians who must try to prevent more violence and bloodletting. The terrorist acts are a reflection of the lack of political accord," he said, after meeting with al-Mashhadani, Talabani and other members of Iraq's Political Council for National Security for a third day to discuss Iraq's crisis....I just need $1.47.
