Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

How do we get from 1000 to 1, which we're still quite a ways off, to 1 to 1 or better. Where do they substantiate such an enormous revaluation. Just because Iraq can benefit from it, surely that isn't reason enough. We could list many other countries that would benefit from a revaluation of their currency but there is no talk of such a thing. Franky, I don't think the Iraqi people could handle that kind of change. Clearly they have demonstrated they do not adjust to change well.
If a can of Pepsi costs 1000 Dinar (69 cents) at today's rate in Iraq then the monetary system is working as it should. How can it cost less than 1 Dinar tomorrow. Could they even get change from one Dinar??? I do not believe they have the actual currency to make this happen so quickly.Precocious
