Considering Kuwait is a very important and contributing factor in the success of Iraq in the future....I can't dismiss this especially with it so low and changing since yesterday....I'm sure they didn't just pull that number out of there hat to make Iraq look good....somethings up....JMHO. However, I always respect your opinions Adster...I just can't let this one go yet.

Must mean security. But you're right, offload Maliki, get in someone with a butthole like Allawi and reval.
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

Unfortunately by the time they oust Maliki and want to put in Allawi there won't be any credibility left for big investors to depend on. Unfortunately Maliki is going to make or break this deal and if Bush doesn't slap some sense into him then I will....Maliki is really testing my good karma and I am on the verge of getting a little ticked off right now. But, he can redeam himself if he revals in the next day or 2....

President Bush begins Monday trip during which he will meet with Nouri Al-Maliki Prime Minister of Iraq, in Jordan. And Bush is not bound to accept the Commission's recommendations. Being the co-chairmanship of the Armed Forces of America and the National Security Council, similar studies.

But it is expected to have significant influence of the Commission because it includes representatives of the two parties, and co-chaired by Republican Baker, who is close to George Bush the father and served in his administration.

The New York Times newspaper that some members of the Committee are studying proposals to withdraw a significant number of American forces in Iraq rapidly over a year from now, even if the Iraqi army is ready to defend the country.

Under one of the proposals would reduce the size of the American forces in Iraq and the current strength of 150 thousand troops by half during the year. The newspaper quoted a member of the Committee, said that the Committee had been unable to reach consensus on the withdrawal of troops.

Panel on Iraq to urge aggressive ME diplomacy
    (AFP)

    27 November 2006

WASHINGTON - A bipartisan panel studying US strategic options in Iraq is expected to urge an aggressive regional diplomatic initiative that includes direct talks with Iran and Syria but sets no timetable for a military withdrawal, The New York Times reported on Monday.

Citing unnamed officials familiar with the plan, the newspaper said that while the Iraq Study Group was likely to accept the diplomatic option, it also expected a potentially divisive debate about timetables for beginning a US withdrawal.

Several officials said announcing a major withdrawal was the only way to persuade the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Kamal Al Maliki to focus on creating an effective Iraqi military force, the report said.

Members of the group, including some Democrats, are discussing proposals that call for a declaration that within a specified period of time, perhaps as short as a year, a significant number of American troops should be withdrawn, regardless of whether the Iraqi government’s forces are declared ready to defend the country, The Times said.

The paper said that among the ideas under consideration are embedding far more American training teams into Iraqi military units in a last-ditch improvement effort.

While the numbers are still approximate, phased withdrawal of combat troops over the next year would leave 70,000 to 80,000 American troops in the country, compared with about 150,000 now, according to The Times.

“It’s not at all clear that we can reach consensus on the military questions,” the paper quotes one member of the panal as saying.

The draft report, according to those who have seen it, seems to link American withdrawal to the performance of the Iraqi military, The Times said.

But details of the performance benchmarks, which were described as not specific, could not be obtained, and it is this section of the report that is most likely to be revised, the paper said.
