I hope she is right too! Hubby gets laid off from his job on Friday, so it will be a slim Christmas around here if something doesn't happen.
But have some speculation of my own. Most of you know that Hubby is a truck driver. Well the fuel station that he hits quite often, and has gotten to know the owner well is from Iraq. They joke alot, and my husband told him that I was buying dinar. The owner kept telling him "Don't waste your money, you are buying something that is worthless." Well, I bought hubby a 25,000 note for his birthday in October, and he folded it up, put it in his wallet, to carry around for good luck, hoping that one day he would call and I would tell him it r/v'd and he could come home. Well, yesterday he stopped at his favorite fuel stop, and as usual was joking with the owner. He pulled out his 25,000 note and showed it to him. He looked it over really well, and said "This is what the big notes look like huh? My sister has only been sending me 1,000 dinar notes." My husband was shocked, and said "I thought you said it was worthless." The owner just told him "You shouldn't be carrying that around with you, you need to go put it in a safe deposit box." I immediatly asked my husband, "did you ask him why the change of heart?!?" And he said he didn't think about it at the time because he thought it was just good that the owner was now telling him to hang tight to that currency.
Well, that is my story. Wish I knew the owner better, because I would have all kinds of questions.

I think too many people on this board are relying on this venture. You better have a back up plan because this is not a sure thing. At 4 cents you will probably never make that much profit off a Investment ever again. Some people say they wouldn't cash out at 4 cents, but then all of the sudden the shoebox under there bed is worth 100k or 500k or whatever, many will cash in and take it with a smile on there face!
Most people can't be trusted, so we should have laws against guns, which most people will abide by because they can be trusted.

Choochie, that is an interesting story.
I have an Iraqi friend who I used to work with.
He has lived in England for seven years and still has family in Iraq.
His father has made a reasonable amount by trading middle eastern currency, and is well versed in this arena, and for the last two years, he has been sending lots of IQD to my friend.
When I last spoke to him, he said that he hopes that I still have my dinar somewhere safe. Didn't say much more, and I didn't want to push him, but he seemed fairly upbeat.

HERE IS MY FACTUAL TRIVIAL COINCIDENCE FOR TOMORROW 11/28/06.
Zionism and the Arab Cause (November 28, 1941).
In this struggle, the Arabs were striving for the independence and unity of Palestine, Syria, and Iraq. The aid to the Arabs would have to be material aid. Of how little help sympathies alone were in such a battle had been demonstrated plainly by the operation in Iraq, where circumstances had not permitted the rendering of really effective, practical aid. (I betcha' if they revalued their currency then.....it would have been effective)...Come on reval!!

Should we listen to him or has he lost his credibility with the pessimist statement from a few months back.

I don't know - I think the pessimists are still wondering what was supposed to have happened in October to make them all surprised. In other words, the pessimists are still pessimistically pessimistic. I don't doubt that Iraq is in trouble, but I think Annan tends to look at things a little skewed from reality... Or, maybe - Just maybe - he could've known the score this whole time, and is on the misinformation bandwagon... But I don't know how likely that one is, but anything and everything is possible... The question that needs answered is, "How Probable?"
Four years ago... no, it was yesterday. Today I... No, that wasn't me. Sometimes I... No, I don't.

I'm not cashing in until 1.47 or better....you are right in saying we probably never would make 4 cents profit off a investment ever again.....but how phenomenal is $1.47.....once in a lifetime shot which most likely will never happen again in our lifetime......I'm in for the ride.....!!!!
