Thread: Iraq/Dinar News. 09/05 to 01/14/07

One thing I read on the other forum which I didn't know was that Afghanistan did indeed lop off zeros from the value of their currency, which really depressed me. But then I thought about the economic potential of Iraq vs. Afghanistan, and I felt a lot better.

No worries, I go to three or 4 and they are the most negative! used to be my fave, not anymore.

I'm becoming more skeptical about anything really great happening this summer, one reason is I feel that the government is too new to deal with the changes to the economy a reval would create. So I don't know now if my reluctance to embrace the dinar excitement is based on clear thinking or if it's this shell I've developed to protect myself from further disappointment.

It sounds like you and I are in similar frames of mind however, the way I look at this is, the amount of money I've laid out for dinars is very little and losing it all will not change my life. It's like money spent on a nice week end get away or if you have spent more, perhaps it's like money spent on a nice vacation but the point is, it's not that much money and if it is spent and gone ,oh well, so what. Your life does not change one bit, however, if this Iraq thing plays out well for that country and there is every reason to believe that it will then, this small investment will most assuredly change you life. So, don't sweat it. Just enjoy the thoughts of all the possibilities this could have for you and those you love and if and when it happens, rejoice. If it does not then, oh well, life goes on, no big deal.

My motto is, "every day above ground is a good day". Hey, but if you have lots of doe, it's much better. Right?

Not too much happening on the forums/new articles, guess with the recent visit from Bush, the convertibility on the State dept site and news of the imminent investment law guess there's nought to do but go have a cup of tea, (yea right, more like a beer) and watch some sport whilst doing one of my other loves, 'trading'!
