I noticed that the Daily price Bulletin buying and selling values for the Dinar is increasing for all currancies except the USD. Is it because the USD is droping in value on the world currancy exchanges or? Help please!

    Hi,

I guess this one is for Adster, When the dinar revalues and hopefully floates rather than pegs, how will it effect us in England with the weak dollar at the moment approaching $2 to the pound. Will the dinar against the pound be better will we get more pounds for our dinar, ANY IDEAS.

Top Bush aide raises doubts about Maliki: NY Times
    (Reuters)

    29 November 2006

WASHINGTON - US President George W. Bush’s national security adviser has raised serious doubts about Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki’s ability to control sectarian violence, The New York Times reported.
National security adviser Stephen Hadley told Bush and other top administration officials in a Nov. 8 classified memo that the United States may have to take steps to strengthen the Iraqi leader politically, the newspaper said in an article posted on its Web site at The New York Times - Breaking News, World News & Multimedia.
A White House spokeswoman had no immediate comment on the report.
The memo surfaced as Bush prepared to meet with Maliki on Wednesday in Jordan to discuss a surge in sectarian violence between Sunni insurgents and Shi’ite militias.
Bush is also expected soon to receive proposals for possible changes in US policy on Iraq from a bipartisan panel headed by former Secretary of State James Baker.
The Times said the five-page document was based in part on a meeting between Hadley and Maliki that took place in Iraq on Oct. 30.
“He impressed me as a leader who wanted to be strong but was having difficulty figuring out how to do so,” Hadley said in a text of the memo published by the Times.
It said Maliki receives “undoubtedly skewed” information from a small circle of advisers from the Shi’ite Dawa Party.
“His intentions seem good when he talks with Americans, and sensitive reporting suggests he is trying to stand up to the Shia hierarchy and force positive change,” the memo said.
“But the reality on the streets of Baghdad suggests Maliki is either ignorant of what is going on, misrepresenting his intentions or that his capabilities are not yet sufficient to turn his good intentions into actions.”
In their meeting, the Times said, Maliki expressed to Hadley a vision of partnership between Shi’ites, Sunnis and Kurds.
But the memo said the Iraqi leader’s bipartisan assurances were contradicted by developments that suggest a campaign by Shi’ites to consolidate power in Baghdad, including an escalation of killings by the Mehdi Army militia created by radical Shi’ite cleric Moqtada Al Sadr.
The Times said the memo suggested Bush press Saudi Arabia to use its influence with Sunnis in Iraq, possibly in return for a more active American role in the Arab-Israeli peace process.
The document also laid out a number of steps Maliki could take to establish control. But it said his position might be too tenuous to curb the power of Shi’ite militias, establish a more diverse staff and control escalating sectarian strife.
The memo suggested it may ultimately be necessary for Maliki to recast his parliamentary bloc, a step the United States could support by pressing moderates to align themselves with the Iraqi leader and giving them money.

Hello everyone. Another very small auction today. Few banks, and little money transacted. They did sell dinar, around 2 Million, but not enough to be concerned that this is a reversal of the trend. As one posted, probably to help a bank make its cash flow. Also a another improvement in the price. So, there is not much dinar to buy even at a better price out there. I still think we are seeing a "drying up" of the dinar in the system and we will continue to see an improvement in the price. If I read the posts correctly, they (CBI) have taken about 1.2 Trillion out of the economy this month. An impressive amount, they have stopped selling dinar, which we should see eventually in the dealers being unable to get it, they have raised interest rates which is another method to decrease the money supply. When these interventions are taken with their oil money and with the GOI operating within budget, the outlook is great.

Several have asked if I thought the "BIG guys" would buy iraq up if the RV was at a low level. I think the big guys are already there. Based on what I saw all over iraq, and if you have read these forums for the last two years you would have noticed many companies reported to be moving into iraq to do business. Telecom/wireless, agri business, energy, railroad, and increase in new businesses etc. While I was in Iraq, Haliburton was reported to have bought 1 Billion dinar, and this was confirmed by several of their management people. So, many of the big guys are there already. Good Luck, we have one more auction this week and I suspect that we will see very little. As I said earlier, whats important now is not what we see, it will be what we do not see. I think the price will continue to rise, with little real amounts of USD or dinar transacted. Until they have to adjust the value of this currency consistent with its true value. And at 14 dinars to the US penney, it has been/and is way undervalued. Thank You
