Great thanks for the post Mike. Not sure if you missed my post or not so I'll ask again. If anything were to happen with the US dollar, would that affect the Canadian dollar as well? I'm not too knowledgable when it comes to Economics and currencies etc. etc. Plus I'm just a young Canadian EH! lol.

You are right though in suggesting to only cash out enough dinars to pay off debts etc. and just sit on the rest of our stash. I will only be cashing out about $25,000 dinars (depending on the rate of r/v of course lol) to pay off my debts then maybe an extra $10,000 dinars as 'fun money' eh.

    Cheers all,

    Rob

    Greetings Rob,

No, I was only referring to US dollar, and as you know, the CAN dollar has already made great progress against the US dollar over the past year, so I do not think the fall in US dollar will hurt CAN, it will help as all currencies will be higher against the dollar. So I would not worry as much in CAN at the moment, but keep an eye on it for us, eh? (g)

    Good luck to all, Mike

Thank you Mike for the informative post on the US dollar. Being I am in the US I am interested in any suggestions anyone could offer. I appreciate the one to only cash enough to eliminate debt... and possibly alittle extra... But I am thinking of how a U.S. person could cash out the rest for security reasons..
Is it possible for us at the time of exchange to ask our banks to hold it in
Euros or is that only possible out of the country. If it would necessitate a
trip to set up a acct. in another country to do so, it would be a priority for me
in order to secure the funds before a possible drop of the US could wipe out the value of our dinars.. Hope I am not sounding naive but I am naive regarding the options and possibilites of what could happen... Please feel free to offer any suggestions that anyone may be considering as a solution to the possibility of the dollar de-valuating and effecting us here in the US... thank you in advance

    Greetings,

No problem, when and if the time comes where we are seeing all the signals spoken about, then you can exchange for any currency you want, Euro, Yen, whatever, but my point is, hold onto the dinar as it will stablize against other currencies, so the point is, you would be better off with dinar than dollars at that point and then wait for dust to settle. (g)

    Good luck to all, Mike

Thank you Mike... I see your point and appreciate your clarifying the points for me. Another thought I have wondered about is, do you think we will have any problems at the banks exchanging larger quanties, like one or two mil. dinars due to the patriotic laws that I keep hearing won't let people move or wire larger funds quickly anymore? In other words would they simply do exchanges like a traveler would do.. no questions asked or would they question larger amounts in a intimating way? Maybe there is no way of knowing yet but if you are anyone
else does have any thougts on it ... please share them...
    Thanks again...
    Cheers

    Greetings Libby,

I don't think there will be any problems exchanging for whatever currency you want, you just have to order ahead and may have to wait a few days, but nothing more than usual exchanging of currencies. If you are near airport or casino, you can exchange their as well, but at higher fees, but that is where I will exchange mine when needed. I will also exchange some at local banks as you will need an account in most cases. Should be fun. (g)

    Good luck to all, Mike

    Greetings Cigarman,

Give your wife a cigar and tell her nothing has changed, I have been hearing the same story since January, so no change, which is fine with me. (g)

    Good luck to all, Mike

Not too much going on guys in dinarland. Lol, someone informed me that the dinar is being exchanged for .50$ in the Philippines! Got bullsh*t written all over it!

Tell ya, I get to read so much nonsense!
Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.
