Cool Dang....I got to go to Work (The Day Job)

We have the FIL. This opens Iraq up to investors and especially the ISX. They have wanted the FIL as much as those who are interested in the currency. Its now open to all in the world and based on reports that the ISX has "linked" themselves to the other stock exchnages, this may prove to "open the economy to the world", as has been reported. Very good. Very good. Many businesses are run by very conservative individuals who would not think of entering Iraq without this law. Now they will do so. From all over the world.

The CBI has removed over 1 Trillion in currency from the economy. A monumental feat that few countries can accomplish. This reduces supply and makes the available currency more expensive. Recent auction behavior over the last week supports the view that they have finished this process. Drying up the currency and settting the stage for an RV.

Numerous large international banks reported to be exchanging dinar. HSBC, Barclays, Chase, BOA. These banks are doing this to make money, and we are on their side.

Recent political aggreements that support an economic emerging economy in Iraq.

Reports of oil production approaching 3MBD. Thye are already rich, their GOI is well within budget, and they have reduced their debt to around 1% of current GNP. Few countries have as much potiential and as little debt as Iraq.

Agri production which is the second largest industry in Iraq has increased its wheat production by 1.2 million metric tons. While in Iraq, I was surprised at the agri production there that most americans do not see on CNN. This means that we have a country that is close to being able to feed itself. There has been a huge effort by the US dep. of Agri. to improve their production that has received liitle press.

So, we are at the best possible point in time for the CBI to make a move and RV the currency. If the leases are ready to award, the HCL is either passed or companies are moving into iraq ahead of the law (which they are). Then now is the time. Good luck to all. I hear the weather is wonderful in the Cayman Islands.

FIL is passed and ratified now!

We are only waiting on the official publication in the Gazette and then it is enacted immediately and are the doors wide open for investors.

If I don't see a RV this weekend or at the latest Monday morning, I will send Adster on his bike to Baghdad to care of the business!

Cool One More Post... New Analysis....

Idea of Rapid Withdrawal From Iraq Seems to Fade

    By DAVID E. SANGER
    Published: December 1, 2006
    WASHINGTON, Nov. 30
    — In the cacophony of competing plans about how to deal with Iraq, one reality now appears clear: despite the Democrats’ victory this month in an election viewed as a referendum on the war, the idea of a rapid American troop withdrawal is fast receding as a viable option.

    The Reach of War
Go to Complete Coverage » The Joint Chiefs of Staff are signaling that too rapid an American pullout would open the way to all-out civil war. The bipartisan Iraq Study Group has shied away from recommending explicit timelines in favor of a vaguely timed pullback. The report that the panel will deliver to President Bush next week would, at a minimum, leave a force of 70,000 or more troops in the country for a long time to come, to train the Iraqis and to insure against collapse of a desperately weak central government.

Even the Democrats, with an eye toward 2008, have dropped talk of a race for the exits, in favor of a brisk stroll. But that may be the only solace for Mr. Bush as he returns from a messy encounter with Iraq’s prime minister, Nuri Kamal al-Maliki.

'Whole world will pay' if US abandons Iraq - Kuwaiti emir

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

01 December 2006 (The Daily Star)
A US withdrawal from Iraq would push the country into a civil war that would damage the whole world, the emir of Kuwait said Thursday ahead of talks with French President Jacques Chirac. "In the current circumstances, an American withdrawal would in no way help bring back stability," Kuwait's Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah said in an interview with daily Le Figaro during an official visit to France.

"On the contrary, the situation would worsen and we would see a civil war of great intensity for which the whole world would pay the price."

Asked if the situation in Iraq had almost become a civil war, Sabah said: "I want to hope that is not yet the case."

Sabah and Chirac discussed the situation in Lebanon, Iraq and the Palestinian territories, according to Chirac's spokesman, Jerome Bonnafont.

Following the talks, Sabah said he invited Chirac to visit Kuwait, the official Kuwaiti News Agency said.

On bilateral ties, Sabah said that two sides "confirmed that they are robust and considered this visit a step forward and an outlet for the future."

The two countries also signed two military cooperation deals with France designed to improve cooperation in military intelligence and smooth arms procurement procedures.

Sabah, a close US ally, said US forces in Iraq should change strategy by withdrawing from cities. "Arab countries and Iraq's other neighbors must cooperate effectively to stop the bloodbath among Iraqis," Sabah said.

"On the other hand, American soldiers should leave Iraqi cities and withdraw to their periphery. I told President [George W.] Bush that several times."

Resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was key to improving the situation in Iraq, Sabah said. "Even if we hope that circumstances will soon allow the Americans to accelerate the reconstruction of Iraq, for Kuwait the priority today must be settling the Israeli-Palestinian conflict," he said. "That must be the priority of the international community.

"Without a fair and durable solution of the Palestinian question, frustration in the region will continue. The situation can explode at any moment. That would create a climate even more favorable for terrorism."

On Iran, Sabah said dialogue was "the first step" toward ending a standoff between Tehran and the West over the Iranian nuclear program.

But he advised against a military solution to the crisis, warning that such a move would have "grave repercussions" for the stability of Kuwait. - Reuters, AP, The Daily Star

Default Shwan Al-Mulla describes Erbil as ideal investment environment

Shwan Al-Mulla describes Erbil as ideal investment environment
    AME Info , 30 Nov 2006

In a press conference held at the Dubai Press Club on 27 November 2006, Shwan Al-Mulla, co-Founder and President of Empire Holdings reviewed progress of Empire World, a $350 million property development project.

The project aims to provide the infrastructure necessary for regional and international companies to establish bases for their operations in the city of Erbil in the Province of Kurdistan in northern Iraq.

Shwan Al-Mulla, who founded Empire Holdings with Peshraw Al-Agha, called on private sector investors to follow the example of Empire Holdings founders and invest in the province, which is a natural gateway for commercial operations in Iraq, and which offers an empowering environment for low-risk and high-return investments.

Al-Mulla described to journalists a vision for the private sector-led reconstruction of Iraq, to achieve sustainable development and enhance social prosperity and stability.

Shwan Al-Mulla emphasized the qualities of the investment climate in Kurdistan, in particular the recent enactment of the investment promotion law which offers attractive incentives for investment and guarantees equal treatment for both domestic and foreign investors.

This builds on the other attractive aspects of Kurdistan, such as the political stability that has encouraged expatriates to return to their homeland, and oil revenues that are being employed to build a solid infrastructure.

He called on the Arab and international private sectors to capitalize on the opportunities for low-risk and high-return investment to execute projects to the highest international standards. These investments, Al-Mulla said, will result in private sector-led growth, sustainable development, greater employment opportunities, and higher revenues and prosperity.

Continuing the presentation, Empire Holdings CEO Michel Hébert explained that the Empire World project, which broke ground in June 2006, covers 750,000 square meters of integrated commercial, residential, hotel and leisure facilities in a "mini-city" all-inclusive environment where a growing local and expatriate community can live and work while enjoying a comfortable and safe lifestyle in Iraq.

The site is designed to provide its users with the latest and most sophisticated technology and services. The main feature of the project is the two towers that will be landmarks of Erbil. One tower will provide office space while the other will house a 5-star hotel run by an international hotel company.
