I'm thinking ANYTHING is possible..."they" don't exactly go with the "rules" or with any rhyme or reason.

If so, with the connection of the ISX with the other stock exchanges in Kuwait, Bahrain, Quatar etc. Then anyone in the ME can purchase stocks. How am I doing, still right? If so, then the wealth in the ME is incrediable. I saw this while in Kuwait. There are many individuals just in the ME that can buy ALL of the stocks offered on the ISX especially if they are offered at such a cheap price. They will have done their homework and they will already know which stocks to buy. Its hard for the rest of us to appreciate how much money these individuals have. But it is enough to own Iraq should the dinar stay at such a low level. Why have they not bought ISX stocks until now? They didn't have to. They are already rich and why should they take a chance prior to the law? It wasn't necessary. So keeping the dinar at a low level is not reasonable. I fully understand why the forum is excited over this one. There are several real events and issues that have happened that would predict a rise in the level of dinar. So have a GOOD weekend. Thank You.
    You are 200% right.

I am so excited and I hope that it will be this weekend.

But the Investment Law will only be enacted if they published it in the official Gazette.

So they can still delay the RV and Implementation of the FIL by waiting to publish it until the ICI or HCL is done.

Again, I don't hope it, but I don't find it strange if they do that. We are talking about Iraq!!

I thought the same but was corrected when I was in the Halifax. They are with " The Bank of Scotland", it's a different bank from "The Royal Bank of Scotland". Don't know if the latter is selling.

I guess he must have deleted the post but I could have sworn I read that he worked within the Federal Reserve as well as Securities and Exchange and also was a Professor. I'll have to do a bit more research and find where he's quoted.

One would think he'd be more up on the ISX being he worked S&E.

And while we're on the ISX subject, I spoke with an exchange broker this morning who said worst case scenario under a revalue would be that the current stocks would be paid back to foreign proxies at face value, abolished then reinstated with new value with previous holders having first choice at buyback at new value. She also said this clause may be written within the current Iraq exchange laws which I havn't read.

Didnt someone post that it did not have to be published in the gazette but could be published in the media for effect?? posts have been moved and I cannot find it now.
Central Bank of Iraq concluded many agreements with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and the Paris Club countries, which seeks to restore Aldenarlemkanth (THE DINAR) as it was in previous decades 3/13/2007

Yes, I recall this also! It was when we first found out about the fil. Someone had posted something to the effect of "Because the Gazette is not always updated in a timely fashion, that the announcement in any other national newspaper would have the same effect." I thought I had saved it, so I will see if I can find it.

I believe that was a law that the CBI appended and not in reference to the FIL.

Zibari meets Rice, Moussa in Jordan
Amman, Dec 1, (VOI) – Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zibari on Friday met U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Amr Moussa, the Arab League Secretary General, on the sidelines of the third Future Forum held in Jordan’s Dead sea resort.
Zibari reviewed with Rice results of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s meeting with U.S. President George Bush in Amman on Thursday, the foreign ministry said in a statement received by the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
They also discussed Iraqi diplomatic efforts with neighboring and Arab countries to win their help in establishing peace, supporting the Iraqi government and fighting terrorism, the statement said.
The two ministers also talked about future steps to realize the understandings reached by Maliki and Bush in their latest meeting.
Zibari also met Moussa to discuss the latest political, security developments and an Arab initiative for Iraqi reconciliation, the statement said.
They discussed preparations for the upcoming Arab League meeting on Iraq.
The foreign ministry said that Zibari headed his country’s delegation to the Forum and made a presentation about the democratic experiment in Iraq.
