I dunno Choochie. After we put away our "girls gone wild" hats we may have to stop off in Palm Springs to the Betty Ford Center to dry out after all the non-stop partying...Sigh. Then it's on to gamblers anonymous. I'm really glad to have met you all!!

Ministry of oil says fuel prices will NOT be increased. So much for this one.

Not good. Not sure what is going on here, gonna have to speak to others on this. Seems the oil minister has gone over the deputy oil ministers head on this, WHY? Only he knows....maybe they're delaying the price hike for some reason.Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

still seems to me (what do i know tho eh? (clueless!)) that it would be good from the governments perspective if they could announce the reval and remove the subsidies at the same time to avoid pain and unrest in the public. but certainly possible that there are factors that make that impractical or even impossible.

Maybe they felt it was bad stragegy to announce an oil price increase at this time. If an rv IS IN THE WORKS AND IS IMMINENT, they may wish to make the announcement afterwards, so as to not further incite the people.
Just my guess, you would think they would of coordinated that better.Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

The Iraqi people can't be left in the lurch indefinately without some montary incentives and besides, it's hardly worth the paper it's printed on currently. That's my 2 Dinar's worth Adam!
