I agree with you. Somewhere in the history thread is an article that spoke of the CBI no longer needing to expand the money supply. I believe this was near the end of Sept early Oct ? perhaps someone will come up with it.
It seems that the state insists, or preserve the value of the Iraqi dinar 148 against the dollar ...Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states [ MOF Sept 2006]

Then after another predetermined period of time, the top two will split the last place one's assets. These two will carry on managing my assests. Why two? This way I feel they will all know from the beginning that all their promises will have to be backed up by performance and that the two that perform the best will continue to manage my green...if you know what I mean. Just my plan to be able to find the best of the best. Henry Ford had it right surrounding himself with people that were a lot smarter than he was! That's kinda how I feel being part of this forum!
Sounds like a good plan to me.

I wish that I had paid more attention to the daily numbers in the past but I did not.

It would be great if some web guru was able to search some of those sites that save historical versions of web pages and build us a nice set of data with the full info from all the daily auctions.

Also, I do not know if IQD used in the GOI budget is included anywhere in the CBI figures.

Feds probe Iraqi electric plant contract
    Dec. 3, 2006 at 11:51PM
Federal authorities are looking into an Iraqi power plant deal involving one of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's top fundraisers.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Antoin "Tony" Rezko is believed to have been defrauding Illinois taxpayers.
Investigators want to talk with Aiham Alsammarae, Iraq's jailed former electricity minister, on how Rezko landed the lucrative contract.
Alsammarae, who holds duel U.S.-Iraqi citizenship, attended the Illinois Institute of Technology with Rezko in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The Sun-Times reported that the fact that Alsammarae and Rezko knew each other is of great concern.
Alsammarae is jailed for corruption, the newspaper said.
The contract in question reportedly provided that Rezko and others were to own an electricity plant in the northern Iraqi city of Chamchamal. They would then sell the electricity back to Iraqis.
The contract, negotiated in 2004, is no longer is effect.

Most Iraqis aware of existence of illegal drugs

    By Khayoun Saleh

    Azzaman, December 3, 2006

A new opinion poll suggests that more than half of Iraqis know of the existence of illegal drugs and how to get them.

Baghdad University’s Professor Arkan Saeed conducted the survey in Baghdad, questioning a random selection of 206 people.

Eighty-one per cent said it was not that difficult to buy the drugs while only 18 per cent said they had no idea of their existence.

Most worrying for the researcher has been the high use of illegal drugs among the 15-20 age groups.

He said 46 per cent of the youngsters in this group said they were using drugs regularly while the use declines drastically among older groups.

Of the 109 males in the survey, 92 per cent said they bought various drugs and hallucination pills while only 2 per cent of the 97 females in the study said they were using them.

One good sign for the researcher has been the high awareness among Iraqi drug users that addiction could be treated.

Sixty four of the users said they were aware that treatment was possible if they wanted to.

The results of the poll, despite its small number of respondents, is evidence of the surge in the use of drugs in a country which before the 2003 U.S. invasion had the lowest number of drug users in the Middle East.

The problem, according to researcher, is common among youngsters and if not checked, it may contaminate a large section of the society in the future.

In the absence of law and order and restrictions on the dispensation of certain medicines, the number of Iraqis using hallucination pills and other forms of illegal drugs is expected to increase, Professor Saeed said.

By you saying they only show one side of the auctions I assume you are saying that it doesn't show the amount of dinar the CBI sold, I agree. The CBI rarely sold dinar at the auctions. They are doing it more frequently now then ever before and anyone who has been watching them for a few years can tell you that. My point was that the CBI has been taking in dinar since the start of the PDF, Jan 04.

That can't be. At that rate there would not be hardly any money in circulation. Those cannot be net numbers.
