Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.
Shabibi:The bank wants as a means to affect the economic and monetary policy by making the dinar a valuable and powerful.

Interesting reading back all the posts regarding the US holding dinars. Am sure this is true, I'd heard they have a stash of 50 billion dinars in the US Treasury. A rumour mind you but I'm sure they do have a stash of dinars. Of course this will be used in exchange for oil when the time comes.
What is a bit disturbing was watching the news last night on Channel 4 here in England and seeing reports of the 50 people killed in Baghdad, the biggest amount if casualties in November to date, the report from Washington implying the violence is out of control and of course the US pullout next spring. IF I didn't know better from all the positive news coming out from here and other forums I as a neutral would defo come to the conclusion Iraq is up the crapper bigtime.
Bad news sells right?, always has and I will never believe the US and rest of the debt forgiving countries will desert Iraq until it's more stabilised and their economy has been kickstarted. The world has an active interest in the success of Iraq, they need to have with the amount of oil involved and the necessity there always will be for it.Zubaidi:Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states.

A new fact
Hello all, We need to look at this in a new light. If the NID rate as of 12/05/06 is sell price of 1429 to the dollar then if it just keeps dropping 4 points a day it will be at 1 to 1 in 357.25 days!! that is less then a year for all of us to be setting very well off. Now that is not that long of a wait. ( I think it will not take that long ) but if it does
Great Luck to All

I would love for it to happen soon. I agree with Adster. If they wait they
will destroy all there chances to become a country. If it goes on another year
and the 100 people die a day that is 36,500 people that cant be arrested
now and with a revel of .71 It should be enough to turn this terror into
a territory

Correct. Plus, going from 1430:1 to 1425:1 (for example) is a around a 1% move while going from 30:1 to 25:1 is a 20% move. That kind of action doesn't happen in freely traded forex markets.
Everyone (CBI, GoI, international community) wants a stablely priced dinar.
Anything from a 1 - 2% per day would be considered normal trading activity. However, consistantly going up 2% everyday is abnormal...Last edited by webinvestor; 06-12-2006 at 10:37 AM.
A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face... then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
A little fellow shouted, "Cause your feet ain't empty."
