leaked? it was published for fack sakes. actually, was written to be published in august 05 and didnt come out in print until this spring. they blatently told us in that article that there are 14 denominations of dinar that were printed. we know how to count how many are considered legal at this moment. we can subtract.

no, there are enough to do quorum and then some even without sadr's 30, they know whats on the adjenda and arent wanting to let that oil law pass for whatever their personal adjenda is.

(MENAFN) The U.K Ministry of Defense has earmarked an additional 600 million pounds for operations in Afghanistan and Iraq next year, more than the pre-budget amounts over the past three years, The Guardian reported.

British military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan have cost 7 billion pounds since the invasion of Iraq in 2003,

Earlier in March, Chancellor to the treasury significantly increased the previous pre-budget figure and said an extra 800 million pounds would be spent this year in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Member of the Iraq Analysis Group, an independent research organization, said that the government continues to increase the amount being channeled through the 'special reserve' without any explanation as to exactly where the money is going or why it is increasing .

The MoD has said in the past that Iraq costs about 1 billion pounds a year. Earlier this year, it said the cost of deploying British troops in southern Afghanistan would amount to some 1 billion pounds over five years. It is clear, in light of the intensity of the operations, that significantly more will be spent. Much of it will go on better equipment, including new armored vehicles.

The above is a link to a "Letter of Intent" from Dr. Shabibi of the CBI and the former MOF to the IMF- it is in the form of a 22 page PDF file, dated 1 year ago Dec. 6 2005. In it the CBI and GOI are stating their economic "game plan" for the year 2006 to the IMF.I take it some of you have seen this already and probably many haven't.I find it interesting for what it contains that has happened this year and also for what is NOT in it. For example implementing the RTGS system and AHCS systems by end Nov. 2006 (#37 page 11).Also the metering of the oil system (which we read about a couple of weeks ago) and the drafting of a petroleum law (happening now) by end Dec. 2006 (#36 page 10).Items 17 & 18 on the last page of the document gives the CBI/GOI great flexibility in deviating from the game plan to acheive goals as long as they notify the IMF of these changes. What I DO NOT FIND in this document is this notion that the CBI is trying to get to the 1345 rate by the end of 2006 that has been professed to in at least 4 posts on this thread in the last 24 hrs as if it is gospel!! If that was stated anywhere by the CBI you would think it would be in this document. That was from the IMF in 2003, a SUGGESTED Projection/guideline that is now useless and meaningless, will not overcome 76% inflation or improve the lives of the Iraqi people in any way!
