almost but not quite. i didnt see it go before parliament until thursday, at which time they had an article that said no quorum for 3 x now and the next one would be saturday. yesterday was saturday for them and they did indeed work, it wasnt their sabbath, thats on friday. IF they got that law in there and read saturday great, we got a lag day sunday, they read again monday, lag day tuesday, and they are ready to vote wednesday. that would be the 13th and the iamb would be done but there are alot of other things happening this week too.

"A series of GDP estimates in current US dollars for all the Arab countries including Iraq are published in the authoritative annual Arab Unified Economic Report prepared and edited by the Arab League, Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and the Arab Monetary Fund."
"This report shows Iraq's GDP for 2001 at $81 billion, the third highest after Saudi Arabia and Egypt. These figures are based on official foreign exchange rate when converting GDP value of non-oil sectors from Iraqi dinars to US dollars."
"If the market rate of 2,500 dinars to the dollar were used, Iraq's GDP figure would not exceed $15 billion, and the country's total GDP this year would be in the range of $25 billion."Last edited by "GK"; 10-12-2006 at 07:20 AM.

Asked at BofA in Phoenix, today....
At my branch Bank of America in Phoenix, asked woman "greeter" I'd never seen before about the NID (have several accounts for many years at this branch) and she said "this is a 'blocked' country and we don't sell/buy their currency" I asked is the branch manager was in...turns out SHE was the bank manager and when I asked her what she meant by "blocked", she hemmed around and said that they just don't get involved with "middle east" currency. I asked if she'd be surprised to know that BofA had been selling NID to Chase to sell to their customers and asked if she would mind checking with their NY office. She stated they got their foreign currency out of San Francisco and reiterated that they 'just don't get involved with middle east 'blocked' currency" I smiled and said she might want to check into this further, that the news would be 'eye-popping' within the next few weeks and I wished her good day. She was gracious but honestly had no clue...Can't wait til this re-vals. I sure hope this info about Chase means that they have temporarily run out of dinar to sell AND that there is confusion about buying back because market indications are that a substantial re-val is imminent!
