Sixty oil fields waiting to be developed as Iraq offers contracts for first time since Saddam

Published: Friday, December 15, 2006
Iraq, holder of the world's third-largest oil reserves, will offer contracts to develop 60 oil fields, in several batches, starting next year, said Iraqi Oil Minister Hussain Sharistani. Only 20 of Iraq's 80 discovered oilfields are in production, Mr. Sharistani said. The government is waiting for parliament to approve a new hydrocarbons law early next year to start offering contracts to develop the remaining fields, Mr. Sharistani said. Contracts to develop oil fields were given about a decade ago by the regime of former president Saddam Hussein to companies such as Total SA, OAO Lukoil and China National Petroleum Corp. Wars and sanctions have curtailed Iraq's ability to develop its oil wealth.

Very Friendly Behaviour!
Over the last week I've purchased 8 million dinars at the Scotia Bank (12 mil from other sources). Today was a little different. Their investment manager introduced herself to me. They had a table near the entrance with cookies and coffee for their customers - that's when I asked her if there was any tea.
She said no but quickly made me a cup of tea in her own office and brought it out to me just like I like it - milk no sugar.
When I finished my purchase, another manager in charge of the tellers, asked me when I planned to return and cash them in - i said between three and six months (although I'm hoping two weeks!).
When I was preparing to leave - the investment manager said to remember her when I come back to cash in.
Without hyping the situation - It was a curious and pleasant feeling that I haven't experienced in a bank before.

Well just like this guy he really knew nothing about it until it was mentioned. so even when you hear about this currency becoming dealt with by your bank it is doubtfull most even clue in.
Plus this guy may have other reasons like longterm investment in his job or maybe it just hasn't settled in his mind yet the total potencial. He's a creature of habit. Depending on how well invested this banker is he will sing a different tune soon I believe. It seems that the state insists, or preserve the value of the Iraqi dinar 148 against the dollar ...Monetary value of the Iraqi dinar must revert to the previous level, or at least to acceptable levels as it is in the Iraqi neighboring states [ MOF Sept 2006]

I think we were assuming at that time that the "Major Event" was the alleged IAMB meetings that we thought were to take place on the 11th & 12th of this last week. Still no confirmation that they ever took place except for the theory that they were combined with last Sunday's ICI meeting.

Bank story's!!!!!
As we are talking about Banks I have a couple of funny and interesting story's.
When I first purchased my Dinar back a Year ago I went into my Wells Fargo bank and talked to the stock guy and I asked him about the Iraq Dinar he told me that it probably was the safest investment you could make as it had no where but up to go.
My Financial guy who is great and very knowledgeable I told him and he did not know anything about it. But did research and quickly bought some and now has also purchased the Dong.
My friend went to put her Dinar in her safety deposit box and got talking with the Bank guy and he said he had his in a safety deposit box in that Bank also.
But then you get the not so smart Bankers like the other day I went to get my cashiers Check for my Dong and she asked me if I would like to put what the Check was for on the receipt. I said yes to put Vietnam Dong. So she said to me oh your buying currency I said yes that I was investing in Iraq Dinar and Vietnam Dong so she said my friends are doing that as well. So I told her to buy some as it would be a great investment and she looked at me crazy and then ignored me. Which indicates she knows about it but has no intension of buying any. The funny thing was at the time they were playing Presidents Bush speech about how we were not going to fail in Iraq.
So my question is this if you know about it why would you not at least invest $100 it could still change your life?
I think it is way scarier not to try than to lose!!!!
Imagine knowing about it and saying it wont happen so you did not put $100 in instead you went to dinner and a movie. Then it hits it would be like having the winning lotto ticket in arms reach but never reaching for it. I truly feel sorry for some who have no imagination or guts.
Dinar-ExcitedKeep a positive mind.
I have my MOJO back!!!!!!

I would if I could.
All people have their own oppinion and prejudices. It is said that our experience determine our response and action. Well maybe this teller doesn't even know where Vietnam is or never reads the news. That might explain her initial reaction to your suggestion. But I would.
Happy r/v!
