Not as of yet, I believe they're waiting to be released on the r/v announcement. But you're right, no point in making 1s, 5s, 10s, 50s, quarters and halves if they're not got in mind a reval soon IMO.

Ok guys, news from Bruce my supplier, as Portugal are still in the World Cup and that being his home country he's offering the Special cash price of US$902 per million (5 % off normal credit card prices) - this applies to Bank wires/transfers or transfers by Moneygram. This will last as long as they will which could only be until Saturday when they play England in the q/finals!!!

National reconciliation plan to launch program to rebuild Iraq --

Khalilzad BAGHDAD, June 25 (KUNA) -- US ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad said Sunday that agreeing to the national reconciliation plan will allow Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki to launch a major economic program to rebuild Iraq.

Khalilzad told the press at the Multi-National Force (MNF) headquarters here that it is time that this nation unites under one banner and added that the reconciliation plan by Al-Maliki is an important step towards that.

He assured the Iraqi government that the US will back his plan and said "we will work on supporting Iraq until it stands up on its feet".

The Iraqi PM will announce a major international economic project to rebuild Iraq after reaching an agreement on the reconciliation plan.

"I urge all Iraqi leaders to move forward in executing the planthe factions leaders must prove their leadership to their people by insisting on ending the violence" The official said that the Iraqi PM will open the chance for Iraq militant groups to participate in the plan.

He urged some the countries neighboring Iraq to stop interfering with the country's security by aiding insurgents "We advise these countries to reconsider this policy" He concluded that by saying that it is time for Iraqis to resolve their differences through the political discussions and not violence. (end) mhg.

I'm loving the last paragraph, yippppppeeeeeeeeeeee, GO DINAR GO! I LOVE FOREIGN INVESTMENT AND SO WILL IRAQ, :0)

French FM backs Iraqi government, Arab League conference

By John Keating PARIS, June 26 (KUNA) -- French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy Monday issued a strong backing for the new Iraqi government under Nouri Al-Maliki, saying it was "a political step forward which France welcomed." The French Minister was speaking after talks with Iraqi Vice-President Adel Abdel-Mehdi, who was on a previously unannounced visit to the French capital.

"This is why France forcefully supports the Conference on National Entente that is to be held in Baghdad next August. This Arab League initiative can contribute to reinforcing inter-Iraqi, national dialogue," he indicated.

"Firstly we had to complete a political task concerning the representation in the country (and) a large effort was given over to the political process," he said in answer to a question from KUNA.

"The security situation greatly impedes public works and investment, thus it is a question linked to security. But we have full willingness to undertake bilateral relations with France, Europe and other countries. There are projects, after the formation of the Al-Maliki government, to encourage foreign investment in the oil sector, in the industrial and agriculture sectors, in services and infrastructure," he added.

    flygirl1,

It doesn't have to peg before it opens, they could allow it to float as demand allows it too and leave it at the rate it is. This is highly unlikely as stocks and shares will be bought up for peanuts, so yes they will r/v before it opens.

As to when it will open, I have seen photos of the inside of it, sorry no links, but it looks new, as you'd imagine and raring to go! There is no definite date as of yet, they must still be setting up the trading platforms amongst other things. So if we have no r/v before the end of this month we must have one IMO before the end of July. One rumour I've heard, (and there are so many) is 1:1 by the end of July. All we know is it will be open by the third quarter of 2006, but the Iraqi's do things in there own time as we know!

    We'll see.

Another bit of news I have heard is that the US want a big r/v, they have to pay for the war somehow, right? But the Iraqi's want a series of smaller r/v's, WHY? I presume because of the speculative side of things. If say they r/v at .10, many would buy up more, if they then moved it to .20, then more would do the same including the 'bigger players' as the rate goes up.

GW wants nothing more than a 'large one' (rv that is!) but it's down to the Iraqi's as to what they do. Either of these results will work for us although we'd prefer a 'large one' of course!

LOL!!! Since we're talkin' about "large one's" here..Seems to me that with all the assistance America has given Iraq they would appease Dubya somewhat with a "medium sized" RV...IMHO

"Should the new Iraqi government enact the necessary economic reforms to have a competitive market-based economy, they will harness the energies and talents of the Iraqi people and the country could easily have one of the highest growth rates of any economy in the world."

This is a genuine HOOT for me, the newspaper that this quote came from is from the town I live in, Pueblo, Colorado! I guess I should read the newspaper once in and while.
