This is a good question I also am wondering what some of the info. sources are saying...

Also I'm still abit confused as to the statement, "raising three zeroes on the Iraqi dinar, and the lifting so that the value of the dinar was equal to the dollar."

How does that change the value for example $1 million dinar if it pegged at $1.00 would it still be valued at $1mill US..(not considering a possible drop in the US dollar?) Any comments are welcomed... thanks..

    Excellent overview.

I have never read a better history on Iraq than Amir has written. I would recommend everyone read this to see that things are not what is presented by major media, which most of us already know. (g)

    Good luck to all, Mike

    Greetings,

Not to be a party pooper, but I hear the same as I have since January, .30 to .40, not the .68 being suggested in recent articles. We do know it is a sticking point in announcement, but overall, this is just another good signal that this is indeed on the agenda of decision makers, and that is great. It will rise to a dollar to dollar within 18 months, so overall, I am pleased with what I keep hearing. (g)

    Good luck to all, Mike

Thank you Mike... you're right... just the talk of it pegging is terrific news and has made my day... I admit my spirits were dragging abit... but todays news has taken me to a new high... I really don't care where it pegs as long as I can re-coop some of my other losses and make being a risk taker pay off... and I am so grateful to have this opportunity as everyone else here is also to have found a winner! Thanks for all the news you and everyone else brings to this forum!

Hey Mike, the iraqi's are probably wanting .30 to .40 and G Bush probably wants .68. I wonder who will win out. Cigarman

Mike, I can't quite remember what you said to my question about the Canadian Dollar and whether or not it would be safe for ME to cash in all of my dinars. You keep talking about a failing US dollar but would I be safe cashing in my dinars for good ol' Canadian dollars??? I am not sure how much you know about the Canuck economy and our dollar....do you think it's safe even if the US dollar fails somewhat?? Can you just imagine if the US dollar fails and along goes with it a major drop in real estate prices (sorry to knock the US dollar). I have been itching to get into real estate ever since I attended a Robert G Allen seminar on RE. I can only imagine how many beautiful homes I'd be able to buy in the US if the US dollar drops and RE prices plummet. Anyhow, back to my question about the CAD Mike...any ideas?

    Cheers all,

    Rob
    Hey Rob,

Not to worry about the Canadian Dollar...it has benefitted from each of the last few tankings of the USD. I am not so sure the USD will hit a true hard bottom anytme soon but it may hit a soft one temporarily. Now the real estate situation is in for a hard bottom and soon in the US. I am going to wait until values tank 35 or 40% before I begin making offers on a new residence. I would not touch a new house right now at these all time high prices. This is surely a good time to sell though, LOL.
