June 26 (Bloomberg) -- The world's central bankers, meeting in Basel, Switzerland, sought to allay concern among investors that higher interest rates will hurt economic growth.

``The inflation problem now will have to be watched,'' Iraqi Central Bank Governor Sinan al-Shabibi said in an interview today. ``We have to have monetary policy that remedies all these things in terms of interest-rate levels.''

Was gone most the day making plans for me and hubby's anniversary. Plan on taking him on a train ride to Chicago, staying for a couple of days, and then the ride back. Was trying to find the cheapest way to go without sacrificing quality, but with all this news, maybe won't have to go the cheapest way!

This just released just half hour ago and it further supports the positive development steaming ahead!!! May peace revive fully among the Iraqis...its good for all involved and those waiting anxiously...to cash in..hehe... but spent wisely and gradually...

The political moves came a day after bombs killed at least 40 people at markets in two Iraqi cities, while key lawmakers said seven Sunni Arab insurgent groups offered the government a conditional truce.

I just don't understand why some people on another forum continue to speculate about this "good news" today actually referring to zero lopping, and that the 1 million dinars are actually going to end up being worth not much more than we paid for them.

I don't know much about economics, but wouldn't zero lopping be something to do for an enonomy that is in a downward spiral....not an up and coming one, as we know Iraq to be?

I wish people would quit talking about zero lopping....guess I will just quit reading their posts!
