Look at the difference between the English Exchange rate page and the arabic one:
Exchange Rates
اسعار الصرف و المزاد
I translated the middle part of the arabic page, and got this (the english page doesn't have this) :
- Note that :-
1. The sale price of remittances dinars (1323) / $.
2. The sale price cash dinars (1336) / $.
3. The cash purchase price (1334) dinars / $.
2-quantity sold in cash "in the amount of $ (5.925.000) and the amount of remittances (730.000) dollars.
3-declare the Iraqi Central Bank made buying and selling rates for the dollar on Wednesday, which falls on 27 / 12 / 2006 in the days subsequent to the end of office hours on Sunday, which falls on January 7, 2007 and pledged to meet the demand for foreign currency without limit and regardless of the quantities required and all its customers and is committed to purchase all the quantities offered by banks for the same prices posted above "and maintained without change for subsequent days. One man's trick, is another man's treat.

Cha Ching, dont be mad at Shabibi. Them staying at this rate gives up their hand that they indeed do have a plan and are carrying it out. Is the best indicator of something big in the near future for the Dinar that I've seen in a while, if ever. Near future to me=before the next auction on Jan7.

Goooooooooooooood Morning RolClub
Wow, no change today. Can't figure this one out yet. Have to think on this awhile and go back over posts from yesterday to try and figure out what they meant. Especially the one about the current rate and the next auction being the 7th of January. Interesting that they were able to pull in as many dinars as they did today even without lowering the rate. Must have figured that since they are going to be closed for a few days the commercial banks were going to need the dollars and had to buy them, didn't need to lower the rate as an incentive for them to exchange. Interesting that they stopped right after they reached a 10% reduction.
1. No point change in the dinar today. Remains at 1325
2. A $4,925,000 (net) worth of dinars, (IQD - 6,525,625,000) out of circulation
3. 7 banks participating.
4. 54th auction since the beginning of CBI's reval plan
5. 89 days into the CBI's reval plan.
6. 2,873,290,777,000 dinars pulled from circulation !!
7. 2,288,790,000 Dinars back into circulation today !!
8. 152 dinar change since Nov 1st (baseline was 1477) 10.291% increase in value of the dinar since beginning of reval plan.
9. 35 point reduction in the rate so far this week. Was at 1360 at the end of last week, 1325 this week.
10. 110 point drop so far in the month of Dec. Ended at 1435 in Nov, now stands at 1325
All I got to say about this is:
What the hell are we doing here, RolClubers? We gotta get off this forum!
Oh yeah, and go where? Where are we gonna go?
I'll tell you where. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talking about a little place called Aspen.Last edited by Socata 850; 29-12-2006 at 03:21 PM.

Peg to the Euro?
To me it's no coincidence that everything is set so perfectly at 1325 dinar to the dollar.
I got the feeling that Iraq is going to peg to the Euro.
If they shift the decimal 3 points it becomes: $ 1.325
This $ 1.325 is exactly 1.00 Euro and that is exactly a 1:1 level as the statements!
Hmmm.....!Last edited by kiko; 28-12-2006 at 12:33 PM.

1.25B to implement Baghdad Secretariat projects during the next 4 years
The Secretary of Baghdad, Dr. Sabir Al-Issawi, said that the Secretariat of Baghdad had signed contracts during the current year, valued at more than one thousand (1000) billion Iraqi dinar.
He pointed out that the Secretariat has obtained approval from the Cabinet and the Economic Committee to raise the operational budget from (150) billion to (400) billion Iraqi dinar, which makes it an explosive budget in all measures. He called municipal districts, which will receive a budget equals three times of the previous one, to follow the proper and legal methods in implementing the projects allocated to them and not to yield to any pressure by anyone in referring projects to prevent administrative corruption.
He explained that the Secretariat has prepared a plan for the next four years (2007-2010) includes projects worth (1,281) billion dollars that will be obtained as follows: (180) billion dinar from the allocations of the Ministry of Planning, (600) billion dinar from the allocations of Baghdad City Council and the rest from the reserve of the Iraqi federal budget.......(omit)
