Hello everyone. If we take the above numbers, prices on e-bay, and prices from dealers, we can refer to these prices as the "street" price. In most third world countries, the street price is not as good as what the "official" price is. Even in Mexico, you can often get a better exchange rate downtown on the street. This is significant in the case of Iraq since the CBI will HAVE to continue to raise the value of the dinar to match the street price. In this case, as the CBI tries to play catch up, the street price will continue to rise to the extent that the CBI will never catch up with what the street is willing to buy/sell the dinar. When we take into account the economic fundamenals, debt reduction, GOI in budget, oil income, gold reserves, removal of currency from the economy, passing of oil, FIL, and retirement laws, then this is the best possible situation we could be in. A lot of this will be influenced by the dinar "taking on a life of its own". A "feeding frenzy"! Expect more and better things to come"!

The Iraqi Presidency Council issued Investment Law No. 13 of 2006, containing provisions for regulation, rights and encouragement for investors, encompassing Iraqis and non-Iraqis, designed for the phases of establishment and operation. The law aims to attract and encourage investment and the transfer of modern technologies to the country; to encourage both the Iraqi private sector and foreign investment in the country; to protect the property rights of investors and their profits, and the expansion of exports and enhancing the competitive edge at home and abroad.

Hi my dinar family and Happy New Year.

I was talking to a friend of mine that I got into the dinar thing and he looks at several forums. (not sure why though..lol)

He has told me that it is being said that the 10,000 dinar gift is being handed out and they are being told NOT to do anything with it until 1/4/2007.
Does anybody around here know anything about this or is it just a rumor?

The Governor of the Central Bank OF Iraq held a press conference on Monday 26TH of Dec. at 1:00 O'clock PM. , addressing the announcement of the International Monetary Fund granting Iraq credit arrangements in the equivalent of USD 685 million within a stand by agreement , H.E. touched on the benefits Iraq will gain out of those arrangements and economic reforms , also tackling on the agreement with the creditors regarding commercial debt exchange and the write – off of some countries to a large proportion of their debts on Iraq .

H . E . referred to the most critical economic problems Iraq is facing which were left behind by the previous regime and how important the arrangements granted to Iraq are in building an overall stable economy achieving economic development that will facilitates the reintegration of Iraq with the international community .

The conference was attended by Senior Officials from the CBI and a number of audio visual media means with local and international newspaper reporters.
