The Iraqi Finance Minister Baqir Jabr strike before the Iraqi parliament today, Tuesday, on the need to adopt transparency in the implementation of the budget for Iraq in 2007.

And the House of Representatives today resumed its regular legislative session in the second round after a quorum and the presence of the President of the Council, Dr. Mahmoud Almshahadani and a number of ministers. The meeting was devoted to the first reading of the draft law on the federal budget for 2007.


His counterpart in a speech that "there is a paragraph investment within this year's budget provides for the adoption of the Iraqi dinar basis in the 2007 budget."

The Iraq in the 2007 budget submitted by the government to parliament last month 41 billion dollars, an increase of $ 11 billion in the previous year's budget.

He added that the fee counterpart exchange policy is the responsibility of the Central Bank for the first time dependent (Central) economic policy and the clear need for investment in Iraq.

He did not mention the Finance Minister that the political features.
The meetings of the Council had been postponed more than once in the past month because of the lack of quorum is half the number of members of the 275-member-plus-one, forcing the Council to hold consultative meetings.

As the meetings had stopped in the past few days because of holiday Eid Al-Adha holiday and travel many members to perform the Hajj.

Reading the post of Susie this morning and now this I think YES!!

This morning there was stated in the article that they could determine the rate of the iraqi dinar when the real budget was done!

I think that is today!

Now this statement about a paragraph of the Iraqi dinar, we must be close to that 1:1 level.

I agree with Charmed, everything that is coming out, plans of Bush!

THEN I WAS CORRECT A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO WHEN I STATED THAT THE RV WAS IN THE 2007 BUDGET AND GOT CALLED "ALL WET" - MAN OH MAN I AM BUSTING A GUT LAUGHING!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS JUST WAY TO MUCH FUN TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Minister urges transparency in 2007 budget
Baghdad, Jan 9, (VOI) – The Iraqi Finance Minister Baqer Jabr Sulagh urged parliament on Tuesday to stick to transparency in carrying out the budget plan for 2007.
"There is a paragraph about investment in this year's budget which provides for having the Iraqi dinar as the main currency in the 2007 budget," Sulagh said.
Iraq's budget this year hits 41 billion dollars, with an increase of 11 billion dollars compared to last year's budget.
Sulagh indicated that drawing up the monetary policies is the responsibility of the Iraqi Central Bank, adding it was the first time the central bank opts for a clear economic policy for investment in the country.
The Iraqi parliament resumed its ordinary sessions in its second legislative session after the quorum was observed. The session was dedicated to the first reading of a draft law on the 2007 budget.
The parliament's session were postponed more than once last month due to the incomplete quorum, half the number of members – totaling 275 – plus one. The postponement was also due to the Eid al-Adha holiday and many members' traveling to Saudi Arabia to perform the hajj.

I like the information coming out about the economic plans especially since I would expect to hear something from the Iraqi side before Bush announces it Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. It is interesting that Maliki and Iraqi government are accepting of the troop surge...could it be because they are about to substantially boost the economy and I don't mean 1260 or 1000:1 those numbers are not enough to curb the violence and initiate prosperity and stability and they know that. "Choice" would imply a greater value than a 1:1 exchange rate, although I would accept that, I suspect, if they are sincere about their desire for their currency, the value would be greater.

Well Chris that seems most logical to first inform your own people!

If they want to announce it they better can they do it today because tommorow there is another ISX session and I am gonna buy me some cheapy stocks more!!

I totally agree with you. Anything less than 1:1 would be an insult to the Iraqis and would not do much to stabilize the country.....1:1 is still very undervalued but it probably would at least show the Iraqi's that the government is serious about putting the country on economic rebound and show true desire to succeed. The higher the better for everyone involved.
